I like many others here have had my 4S order canceled because of some computer glitch which accuses me of trying to order multiple iphones at discount. Apple has only 1 order under my ID and ATT says I'm clear to upgrade. I assume it to be a problem with the iOS app on the morning of the 7th. Anyway, I've re-ordered and responded to the email saying they might be able to honor my prior shipment date of Oct 14th. However, it is still listed as 1 - 2 weeks. If your order has been canceled, and you have re-ordered and responded to the email with your new order number, has you date been moved up yet or are you still at 1 - 2 weeks?
