Ok so we have now established there is not a network related problem, but a system problem.

Do you have any kind of adware or banner blocking software installed which may be causing a browser timeout?

Have you run a systems permissions check scan?

No I cannot get to that part of the site.

I have run permission checks and repairs throught the disk utility in MAC OS

I dont know if I have adware or banner blocking I dont think so since I did a system restore a few days ago

The more I look at this, the more I am convinced that they have you blocked for some reason. The forum link is running the exact same version of vBulletin that this board is running, so maybe one of the admins or someone else who uses it can chime in and say if that is possible.

You can reach the site, given that the telnet connects and that the browser activities windows shows it is trying to load the first item, which is nothing more than a banner ad. The biggest clue is the lack of output from the get command in the telnet session. I think that any further troubleshooting would require information about your IP address, etc., which I am not willing to ask for, nor should you be ready to give it out.

I would suggest you call them, but I cannot find a published number on their site.

Sorry - I am baffled on this.

I sent a PM to the president of the site along with a link of this discussion. He said he would pass it along I assume to who ever takes care of it or its servers.

I will try another router since it works without the router.

My wife had the same thoughts of the site blocking me.

Can a site restrict in such a manner?

So after taking some time off due to falling off my roof, I go a new router and its still happening. Everything at the web site is hunky-dorie.

Woe is me.........
