Considering I have all Nikon gear (the trinity lenses, a few prime, a doubler, a super telephoto), etc... I would say that I will continue to use them on the new camera. Why would I get rid of any of it?

Oh ok, they all work on the Canon mount? Is there any trade off with this, ie focusing etc?

I think you misunderstood me:)

I am a Nikon shooter. I will continue to shoot Nikon. I meant that it is good that Canon released such a camera because this will push Nikon to do the same. I am not switching to Canon. Sorry for the confusion.

P.S. I will get a G12 though as Nikon's P&S's are not that good currently.

Nice Camera, but I don't see myself buying one, way too expensive, Camera Bodies are the worst investment you can make (unless you are making money off using one). The $4300 Can 1D MkII now sells used for $800!

As a Nikon D3S shooter I find this Canon release as great news. It will push Nikon to go that extra step. I don't care how much the Nikon costs when it comes out, I will get one and give the D3S to my daughter. This is a great day for camera enthusiasts.

Uhhh, can I be your daughter?
