Can't believe how blind so many are about iPhone 7

Seeing that an iPhone 6/S + is pretty much impossible if not extremely hazardous to use without a case, what difference does it make what it looks like?

I admire your optimism. But under Tim Cook's leadership I can't think of one time Apple has 'wowed' us a with a product release. I can't even remember being mildly surprised. The usual reaction is 'huh' (Macbook, Mini, iMac, Apple Watch, recycled iphone 5, etc) That old 'one more thing' magic you're banking on is LONG gone. Tim is a soulless bean counter who realizes that a bland update will still sell 10s of millions of units, bank a huge profit and let them churn water until something else is developed.
Cases again. Sigh. I hate cases.

You can only design a slab to a point when they all start looking the same whether using aluminum or glass.
The good news is iPhone buyers aren't superficial and are becoming wiser. If buyers were "blind", the "s" models wouldn't sell well. Although the SE success also correlates with a market ignored for people who want small phones, it also sold well using a recycled design (twice). SE is a perfect example of using the same design and it still sells well as long as there are enough internal upgrades inside of it and good value ($400-$500 when it could easily be sold for $650).
The iPhone 7 Plus and Pro getting an extra gig of RAM after a year is also understated. Buyers don't have to wait three years for another RAM boost like they did from iPhone 5 to 6s.

Well there we have it. Two myopic views. One claims iPhone buyers aren't superficial anymore and the other claims "devotees" will buy anything with an apple logo. So which is it?

I like Apple and have many of their products, but I recently sold my 6S Plus and got a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Apple phones seem old and stale to me now and lack a lot of features I want in a phone.
OK, I'm back now that the 7 has been announced. The phone is largely as rumoured, which is what you were refuting.
With the exception of camera, stereo speakers, chipset, cores, EarPods, adapter, battery life and screen it was exactly like the leaks.
Can't fathom why Apple have restricted the jet black option to certain storage options ?
Increase revenue from people who want the new colour maybe ?

Yup, that's why they have removed the Space Gray option, just imagine people thinking we are buying the same old phone all over again lol...
There was a distinct silence many times when the actual figures were released at the presentation. I have a 6 plus and am not going to be buying this new one as its way to expensive and samsung leaves it standing with an older phone. It isn't the fastest the brightest , the better camera . Its amazing that they can lie like that and get away with it.
They have the regular black option, which likely more people wanted anyway compared to space gray.

Front camera leak? Details of what the dual cameras would actually provide as far as zoom and other capabilities? Editing of Live Photos? A10 information (apparently the "leak" you brought up about the professor doesn't even mention that it's quad core or many other details about it -- some leak that is)?
Keep in mind, that random rumors of things like potential adapter or something like that don't represent leaks or strong indication of anything, they are just that, rumors and guesses, and just because some of them turn out to be right doesn't mean it was known/given information.
