i went to my local store this afternoon, guy said they wil have 6/6+ and no line as of right now. i then asked if i could pay full price, and they said no, you have to be eligible for upgrade, or add a line. anyone know if they were just being shady? or is that right?

Was it a legit Verizon Store or a Verizon Affiliate store?(Usually a big Verizon Wireless sign with a "Bobs Cellular Store" sign below it) Because the Affiliate stores make money off upgrades and contracts and won't sell the phone out right.

The store I have always gone to is an authorized retailer but I've never had to buy the phone full price. Now I'm worried that they may not allow me to and not give a **** that I got there early and waited....wtf...no way of talking them into it? Is this just a store by store basis and no one knows what they will say?

OK good. So they will have to sell it to me they may just say they can't? Basically I may have to call their bluff and ask for a manager or something?

I used to work there. They don't get any credit for selling a full priced phone but how can they refuse a sale to you. Anyone can buy any phone at full price as long as it's a corporate store

I think authorized retailers can do whatever they want except modify verizon terms they set their own device prices.

So they could literally refuse to take my $900 or they could just say yea we will sell it to you, just depends what they care to do? That really sucks

I once had a corporate store refuse to sell me at full price. It took me being on the phone with customer service going back in forth until I got connected to a supervisor high enough to force the store to sell me the phone. I was there almost 3 hours.

I checked with my nearest Authorized Verizon store(i-10 Katy freeway store) and they told me I could not buy it outright.

Disappointing.

Idk if I even want to waste my time at this point then. I'm not getting there at 5 and waiting and then being told I'm not going to be able to buy the stupid phone.

I am already under contract with an iPhone 5S and the 6 Plus would just be replacing that phone. Would that matter to them? It's not like I wouldn't have a contract with them or doing something month to month. My 2 year contract runs out next September so I would re-up with them then and get the 6S Plus or whatever it will be to replace the 6 Plus. Does that help my case at all?

They told me the same thing. So I'm buying one on contract and canceling it same day.. I'll pay the ETF.

Can you do this? I wanted to buy one off contract. I called Verizon. They check my stores inventory. and the 64gb i want they say my store has 20. I told them on customer service i would be paying full price. They never said anything about my cor store only taking ppl with contracts. They only said that i could not buy through the phone and do an in store pickup. That i would have to camp out.

But anyhow that seemed like a brilliant idea. The phone would be $299 plus the activation fee, plus wait a day or two and cancel your contract and pay the $375. But would they then want to recharge you for the phone at that point?

The ETF is $350. You can definitely do it though. I'm first in line at my store.

You can't do it right away, or they charge you the full price of the phone. You have to wait some number of days, 14 I think, to be eligible for the ETF.

I'm ok with paying the full price of the phone. That's what I wanted to do but they wouldn't let me.
