For the most part yes. Any troubles, continue to download Perian, which should take care of the rest.

Except for DRM. No DRM Windows Media files for Macs.

As long as they're not DRMed ...

Also remember that these are QuickTime plug-ins. So now you will play Windows Media format files in QuickTime.

Quit and re-launch Safari.

If it still doesn't work after restarting your browser, check that the Flip4Mac plug in is installed ... Safari from Help/Installed Plugins, or Firefox by typing about: plugins in the browser location bar.

Also, if you just got your Mac, it's not necessary to rush and download Firefox, unlike on a PC, which is pretty much vital given the crap state of IE.

Safari is a wonderful browser.
