i wouldnt recommend asking mac users for headphone advice, as most are clueless when it comes to this.

again, this isn't to bash...but after seeing many threads with people recommending bose headphones and the beats by monster (dr. dre), skullcandys, i am sadly lead to believe this.

the shure e2c's are treble oriented phones, and seems like that is the sound signature you prefer. Based on that, i'd really recommend giving the etymotic er6i's a go.

I personally have the klipsch image x5's and love them. ultracomfortable and balanced sound.

I completely agree with Gothamm and Schneiderman on this not being the best place for IEM advice. head-fi.org is a much better spot. I had a pair of Shure E3c's which I loved but recently replaced due to a bad cable and Shure wanting $90.00 to repair it. I purchased a set of Sleek Audio SA-6's and think they are quite a bit better than the Shure's. I like the fact that they are modular so if your cable goes bad over time you can buy a new one for $25.00 I find that bad cables are the biggest problem with all IEM's. The Sleek's also have the ability to customize using bass and treble tuning ports. They are around $200.00 which is a good price. I purchased them from SoundEarphones.com.

Not sure if the Zagg z.buds are high-end enough for you, but I was amazed with the sound. See the review in my sig - also 20% off right now.

To the OP - Go for the new Apple headphones. They're a massive leap from what they offered before, with twin-drivers in each bud - with silicon tips that should do a good job of fitting in those ears of yours as they come in three sizes. Plus they fill your other requirement, being that you can use them with the iPhone as the have an in-built mic and controls.

Should come in at, or just under, your budget too.

My main problem with in-ear headphones is the noise that is generated from the cables rubbing on clothing when running. Do any of the new ones manage to get around that problem?

Being a proud member of head-fi myself, I would highly recommend etymotic's er-6i.. I used to own them until they broke.. :(

The er-6i is very neutral.. while shures and other IEM's tend to be more commercial sounding (heavy bass, harsh highs).. The ER-4P is worth a look if you're after an upgrade - a much better sounding than the er-6i..

Can't really comment on Denons, UE, and others.. give them a shout on head-fi and I'm sure someone will help you with recommendations/reviews..

I had a pair of Shure E2-c's that I loved. When I got my iPhone, I "upgraded" to SE210's...and I HATE them. They don't stay in my ears at all (I even went so far as to fit the sleeves from my E2-c's to the SE's).

Can anyone recommend some decent in-ear headphones that are iPhone compatible and fit comparatively to the E2-c's? I'm not an audiophile; as long as they stay in my ears I'm happy. Looking to spend up to $120-ish...

Many of the ultimate ears phones have a similar ear-tube bore size and similar fit to the E2c's, although the centre of mass of each of the earpieces is further out from the ear. I'd suggest checking them out.

Clueless as opposed to whom? The vast majority on there are just a snobbier bunch of arguably equally clueless peers.
