Can't mount Western Digital My Book after Snow leopard Install

One possible cause for the problems experienced with this drive could be the Mac re-starting after a brief power interruption. In this case, the drive would power up again, and not having spun down, cause the problem.
The solution is, to set the Energy Saver Preference so the Mac DOESN'T re-start after a power interruption.
