I recently upgraded my phone and my series 3 watch. Now my Mac can’t be unlocked from my watch. I’ve been on a call with Apple for over an hour. Anyone else having a problem like this?

I opened a case with Apple yesterday, they gathered lots of diagnostic data for the engineers, and I got the following response this morning:

I have a response from the Engineers already—it was a fast one! They advised that they are already working toward a resolution for this issue and that they will provide us feedback as soon as they have a solution. They did not give a time frame, but indicated that they will notify me when they have that resolution ready. I will in turn, let you know from there.

For me too: what a pain in the neck is to change just one of your devices and have everything to reset and to fix
thanks!

WatchOS 7.1 released yesterday:
"Resolves an issue that prevented some users from unlocking a Mac with Apple Watch"
Hopefully that is the end of that.
Not for me. I still get a notification: "Your Apple Watch must be signed in to iCloud to allow it to unlock your Mac" and have tried everything - unsuccessfully. One strange thing I noticed - under iCloud.com page my Apple Watch image is blurred whilst other devices are colored - I still don't know why. Maybe it is a reason?

Having to re-pair my watch with the new iPhone I had at one point to sign in iCloud too , for the watch as well.
Not counting how many times I had to sign in again and again for every one of my devices, crazy! You would think for the new iPhone only!
