I've received that message before. Close iTunes and then re-open it and try again.
It didn't work. I'm mad, I want to update to 4.1 lol![]()
It could be an Apple Server issue and not you. I'm trying to download the new Safari update (5.0.2) with the Mac Software Update program on my MacBook Pro and it won't connect.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I have an iPhone 4 Jailbroken on 4.0.1 software.
I tried to upgrade to the 4.1 GM, and I got this message.
Then I tried to update/restore to 4.0.2 and I still got the same message.
& Sorry if this is old news, I haven't been around the site in a while.
if you downloaded the GM then you are meant to click option + restore or option + update on a mac (or if you're on windows, it's shift, not option) and point it to the GM you downloaded. if you mean the official release, it's not out until later
I already updated to the GM, using Umbrella.
oh you said you tried to upgrade to 4.1 when you got the message, so it sounded like you didn't get it done in your OP
I didn't in the OP, but a couple of posts up I replied to someone to say I got
To update using umbrella.![]()
How exactly do you do this? How do you open your hosts file and flush the cache? The keyword is Umbrella. Or any other application related to jailbreaking. They usually mess with the HOSTS file.
Open your hosts file in /private/etc/hosts (Mac) or C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc or C:\Windows\SysWOW64\drivers\etc (Windows)
See if there's a line for gs.apple.com and add a # mark before it to remark it out.
Then, flush the cache or reboot your machine and try again.
