Nice but im to scared to use it naked. Payed over 1300 for the phone so i will put a case on it. This is the first phone i have a screenprotector on aswell.
I payed over ~$900 for my iPhone 6s+…so I will be damned careful with it and not use a case to compensate for my lack of attention or taking due care.

Cases also have the psychological effect of convincing your brain that your device is safe, which in turn affects how people (not all, not everyone) who use cases handle their devices. How many people who use cases have you seen throw their phones around?

Not something you do if you don't have a case on it.

I'm not saying you aren't.

But, I am saying that there is evidence for this mental reassurance existing - at least from users on MacRumors or people those users know. Over my time here I've questioned many case users who have affirmed and reaffirmed this as well as giving their own observations about people they knew.

It's very easy to slip into a mindset of less concern about a device in a case and the first step is that mental security blanket you get when you put a case on. If there was no mental relief that allowed someone to think their device had at least some protection by being in a case, cases would not sell as well as they do.

Peace of mind is an emotional state after all, and most people pursue it because the alternative is not where anyone wants to be.

I understand that motivation.

For me, it works in the opposite direction: I spend a lot for these phones, so I want to be able to hold them and interact with them ... not a plastic phone condom. :)

This is perfect world scenario stuff & you’ve been very lucky. For most people, mishaps happen, whether at home, work, on holidays etc.

It's been a decade and a quarter. It's not perfect world scenario stuff. I would argue that because I don't use a case, I'm more mindful of how I pull it out of my pocket, how I hold it when in public, how I operate it when I'm in a potentially 'unsafe' situation, etc.

The fact that not having case hasn't been a problem for 12 freakin' years isn't luck; it's clearly something about the way I manage my phone.

While to each their own, stuff happens. I use a silicon case on my max, and for the $35 dollars it's cheaper than apple care should the phone take a spill.
