Smart move HP!

Nice looking machine indeed, but .. Spec sheet please?

Also, I almost sure the mainboard is put in the foot? Looking from the size it would be a giant non-portable laptop. But am I wrong?

LOL. This is ridiculous, but I won't even bother anymore.

As with the iMac, yes, nice design although I prefer the iMac stand. This looks pretty fat.

Is a nice looking machine yes.

Dont forget though, only an Apple product has OSX, which (to me) is the #1 reason for buying any Apple product

"I almost sure the mainboard is put in the foot? Looking from the size it would be a giant non-portable laptop."

Looks like a smart move on HP's part, moving the "guts" down into the base (and possibly some contained in the thicker "mounting bracket", as well).

This removes the heat-producing components from directly behind the display panel, which has been a source of problems for Apple (particularly the "smoky screen" issue, usually in the top-right-hand-corner). It not only keeps the display running cooler, but the display casing can be made much thinner.

Additionally, I'd reckon access to the motherboard, drive area, etc. is from a panel on the bottom of the base.

Nice machine. I wonder how long before it's easily "Hackintosh'ed" ??

This thing is getting torn apart for copying on Engadget, even by the Apple haters. I don't see myself ever purchasing an AIO from anyone other than Apple.

Good to see, HP give the imac some competition but than again, some of the things like the keyboard but especially the trackpad remind of a certain other manufacturers product... hmmm which one was it :p

Maybe Apple will copy HP's copy and put the guts in the base and arm, allowing for a desktop GPU! ;)

Errmm.. if the guts are indeed in the base and arm, that's going to be a mobile CPU in this thing. There's no room for anything in there. It looks like (and will probably perform like) an MBA.

The physical trackpad is a copy of Apple but I'll be it doesn't function as well a Apple's does. That's one thing most Wintel laptops get knocked for is crappy trackpads. I can't see this being an different.

the real key to this machine is price 1299 comes out on 11/14/2012.

24 inch 1080p.

looks like for 1299 just intel hd4000

option for discrete graphics will cost more.

no optical drive.
