For months and months, I was fine with my 16gb and said repeatedly in these forums that I missed 3G more than the extra space.

Well, finally after about a year I started running out of space. I've had to delete a lot of unused apps recently to make room for new ones. Filming 2 minutes of video left me with no space. When I upgrade it will definitely be to a 32gb minimum!

You need a 32/64GB only if:

- you sync your music collection to your iPad
- you intend to watch many 1080p movies on your iPad, and don't want to have to delete some to put others on there
- you're going to install lots of 3D arcade games

If none of this is true then the 16GB model will do just fine and you will never will it up.

Also, none of these are true of me and yet I have used up 16gb.

Wow - I started reading through thIs thread, started to post advice to stay with 32MB, then saw where you had already made decision to return for 16 MB and didn't want to cause second thoughts. I'm glad you had the chance to detour and spend some time before deciding, although I'm sorry for the circumstances. I think it's always better to upgrade a bit from what you think you'll need in storage.:)

Capacity is king. My 64 gig iPad 2 has 6 gig free, as I load up on music and movies when I travel. If there had been a 128 gig version I'd have gone that route.

I was going to say that I'm very happy with my 16 gb, purchased on release day and still only using 2.4 gb. However, I see you found use for the extra space after all. Enjoy your new iPad :)

Yeah, 64GB is barely enough for my needs.

I am amazed with how much I am using the iPad. I've always loved Apple products, but could never justify a "oversized iPod touch". Man was I wrong! As far as the capacity, I wish I would have just gotten the 64GB in the first place. If you are not using the storage now, you will most likely find a way to fill it later. On the other end of the spectrum, my partner is happy as a clam with his 16GB wifi model I bought him today for his birthday. He has no music or movies in digital format so I think he will be fine. I tried to talk him into the 32GB, but he had his mind made up (it took me this long to convince him he should have his own iPad instead of stealing mine every chance he got). Next goal is to get him an iPhone, I'm getting tired of watching him text on a flip phone :p.

Hopefully Apple will release a 128GB next time around.
