2. DLO Transdock (or transdock micro) - This is an FM transmitter, and the only one that I tested that actually works good with the iphone. It has a nice built in cradle that charges and transmits and Unlike the kenwood ipod integrator you can freely control the ipod section directly from the iphone screen. It also has numerous other features like USB in and Auxillary in/out. This means you can integrate any other device that has a headphone jack. And you can pipe out video to your car's video system if you have one.

The drawback to this device, is that you have to rely on FM signal unless you have an auxillary in on your car or an rca adapter in the back of your headunit.

What is the quality of this? Does it have much static? Do you have to put the iPhone in airplane mode? Does it pop up with an error saying that the iPhone isn't compatible with it like it does for some accessories? Does it fit snug?

From what online reviews say the quality is only fair compared to the older version (transpod). But Users who use the auxiliary instead of the antenna gave much better reviews.

From what I understand, all third party devices that use the dock port ask for airplane mode. It's annoying, but, you just hit no and it works fine. If you go to DLO's website they now say openly that it is compatible with iPhone. The other drawback with this device that I forgot to mention is that there are periods of interference from the phone signal. I only used the FM version, but auxiliary might be more stable. Ultimately the phone interference is what made me choose the Kenwood adapter because there is no interference. The phone also fit very snugly with the included stick-on cushion backing.

Does audio from calls work over the speakers or do you have to undock the phone when you receive a call?

Here is my set up in my CLK
Charges phone
Plays music thru my in car audio system
When someone calls, music stops and I answer the phone on the mount, hit speaker and Bobs your uncle.
Same when I want to make a call, dial the number (or use a contacts number) hit call and hit speaker and again talk awy untill your hearts content
NO feed back no nothing, just a bummer when you are in the car with your wife and your girlfriend calls:):):)

Does anyone know which FM docking transmitters are suitable for the iPhone (or touch), even though they won't support calls.
