thanks for the tip but its not a cable issue. an intermittent cable would instantly lose connection like unpluging it IMO. This is a total lock up of carplay then a disconnect after about 30 seconds.

My girlfriend has a brand new iPhone 17 Pro Max and she drives a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. CarPlay is only wired and it freezes or disconnects all the time. She is using iOS 26.1 and was the same with 26. Her old phone was an iPhone 15 Pro (which was on iOS 26) and she had zero CarPlay problems with it. I have tried everything and there is no fixing it. She is ready to get rid of her phone. Any ideas or solutions?

I'm continuing to deal with wireless disconnects on 26.2b2. I'm installing beta 3 now and I'll test it out again in a few hours. I still don't know if it's iOS 26 or my iPhone 17. I never had an issue with these frequent disconnects with my iPhone 14 Pro on iOS 18. It's extremely frustrating. It still seems more likely to be iOS 26 because of threads like this indicating others are encountering flakiness. Since it's impacting wired connections for some and wireless for others, I'd suspect they mangled their CarPlay handshake negotiation code somehow in iOS 26.

Just adding to the current CarPlay issues.

15 Pro Max, cabled only CarPlay (head unit doesn't support wireless).
Was working fine in 26 and 26.1, right up until 26.2 beta 1.

Beta 1 wouldn't immediately connect; I'd sometimes have to unplug and plug the phone in a couple of times before it worked, but then once connected it would work with zero issues for its entirety.

Once 26.2 beta 2 was installed, CarPlay would no longer work at all. The phone charges via the USB cable without issue, it detects the cable fine. If I plug the USB in the non-CarPlay USB port, the head unit pops up with a message that it's not supported, so the head unit is working fine too.

Installed beta 3 and issue remains; CarPlay is completely dead. Tried a different cable, tried turning off any and all VPNs, still the same. The reason I tried without VPN is because I have Adguard installed. This is not causing it however due to having Adguard installed since I've owned the phone, and not once ever had an issue with CarPlay working with it, as it's turned on 100% of the time.

So yeah. Here's hoping for next week's update and hoping that fixes the issue.
I've raised a feedback ticket, and have been lodging feedback absolutely everything since iOS26 beta began, and will continue to do so.

On a ALPINE ILX-W650E and 26.2 beta 3 with 17PM again no connection at all on CarPlay.

Nor on beta 2. Have to rely on another phone with iOS 18.

I just installed the latest beta 3 of iOS 26.2 and I’m still seeing a disconnect every 45-60 seconds or so. My wife’s just stopped connecting her phone in her car. It’s a pretty bad safety issue, I think.

The Feedback app issue I submitted about these CarPlay disconnects says “Recent Similar Reports: More than 10” and an open status. No guarantee they’ll take this on and fix it, but at least it’s getting reported. If you haven’t, please pile on!

Im having constant CarPlay disconnections since iOS 26 came about, but only on the new 17 Pro Max. My old 16 Pro Max was fine, even on all the iOS 26 beta's. I got apple to replace my new phone, the replacement also didn't work and the disconnections continue. Ive tried with my partners iPhone 17 pro max and this also disconnects. I was hoping 26.1 would fix it - Nope.
Ive reset the infotainment system on the car stereo, Ive reset the iphone, Ive cleared all devices from the bluetooth settings, literally tried everything. The company that installed the CarPlay system has reached out to me to say there are issues with iOS 26 and they are looking to release a fix. Apple are really losing the plot with their constant buggy software, breaking the basics.

Do you mind providing your Feedback ID? Mine's FB21062288 and still shows zero/notta/zilch

In my case, I'm on a 16 Pro Max and everything's been fine up until last week or so. Now it's just not worth connecting at all.

How do they regularly break what was working? This is not the first time they have busted CarPlay connectivity for me.

Just hope they don’t suggest the fix to get a new car with CarPlay Ultra as the fix.

I have submitted my bug report.

Since my VW Golf (UK) car updated over the air and my iphone 17 Pro updated to latest ios version i have been plagued with disconnections - had some before updates but very much more since then. using wireless connections not wired

So annoying that if i thought a different model iphone was better for staying connected then i would seriously consider changing my i0hone 17 Pro to it. ie is the Air or 16 e affected with this

I've got a 16 Pro Max, a 14 Pro Max, and my Daughter's 16e, and they're all causing my Stereo Head Unit to crash/reboot every 30-45 seconds. It's not a "phone" issue...
