Nothing even that specific. Just that an announcement will be made by the end of the year. They also can't and won't share any details of what will be in the release other than Carplay support.

o_O

We can tell you what it is but we can't tell you haha oh lord.

Here's more info about Carplay (sort of) on the Focus Fanatics forum.

I was assured back in April, when I began a lease for a 2016 Focus Titanium, Carplay would be available by this summer. HA! Now it's by the "end of the year". Hard for me to believe that Ford could actually exceed their Microcrap original synch system fiasco, but it seems they are well on their way. I have called Ford on 2 occasions now...each time I spoke with a clueless rep, who provided me with inaccurate information. If Ford's lack of clear communication is any indication, I expect their adaptation of Carplay to be another Sync fiasco.

Interesting update for the brave of heart (not really I did it fine and I am a coward): http://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=3881&pid=100870

Sync 3 2.2 is out and you CAN install this via USB stick...giving you the magical power to use.....Android Auto! o_O

However, you WILL need to grab a new double USB plug (this little fella) and I don't have ANY idea what the right part number is to get the Apple-approved plug. If anyone knows...let me know. I am willing to take the bullet and try a self-install.

Update:

Installed, working. Advice: write the one that's in there off. Just get a flat head under the side and chip it out with a hammer. Not surprisingly, putting the new one back in is easier.

Parts for an EDGE:

-GJ7Z-19A387-B (White USB Port LED's - Lincoln Default) -- This WILL work (it's what I got because the below is on back-order for months) expect it's upside down. Not a big deal for me but it might drive you up the wall if you're that sort.

-HC3Z-19A387-B (Blue USB Port LED's - Ford Default)

Yep :D

Updated my Sync 3 v1.0 to v2.2 ('16 Mustang GT), installed a dual port hub in the center console, now I have two working, Carplay compatible ports, and CP is outstanding!
