Verizon. I chatted them last night before the drop, but it may just be cs reps not knowing what they're talking about. I'm just going to keep a copy of your forum post around just in case. Do you plan on cancelling your existing line?

Yes. Once I get the phone and activate it, I’m going to cancel one of my existing lines as I don’t care about keeping the number associated with it.

I think you can keep existing #, just transfer the new phone number to the existing line and cancel the old line.

You think so? The forum post seems pretty clear in stating that you won't be able to keep your own number
You are right mistersnowmans, that not how it works. Some have claimed can cancel new line after 1-2 cycles, but I highly doubt that practice works. My view is I am leaving verizon for ATT. we have 2 lines and renew at the same time. the incentives are meant to increase business for the carrier by adding a line. the more lines you have the more complicated it is to move everyone at one time. We will come back to verizon in 2 years if they have a similar offer or ATT won't match for existing customers.
Again, will say that Verizon lied when they said it was best offer ever. Even if it was $50 more it causes an increase in your bill much above that by having to add a line. LIARS :)
