I think I got it to work! My problem l think was copy and pasting the .bundle, but this time I opened it and copied then replaced the files inside. Now it says I'm on 18.0, LTE works without having to roam, but the weird thing is, CommCenter is still installed and volte works, but there's no option for it.

I'm going to try uninstalling CommCenter and hopefully it won't mess things up.

O__o I wonder what part didn't work? I'm worrying it's going to backup and restore the edited Carrier Bundles folder.

EDIT1: Unintalled CommCenter, rebooted, "Network Unavailable," and no LTE. So I got it working, but with the patch. >_<

I mean let us know if the restore works - if they're still signing 8.1.

I don't think so.

Remove commcenter when you have the stock file in place after two reboots.

: \ Creating an "iPhone" folder under there and placing the .bundle in it doesn't work. I guess I'll just keep trying a couple things and if I don't get it figured out then I'll probably just keep 20.1.1 or 18.0 with CommCenter if I can manage it.

Update: So yeah, at the moment CommCenter is on there as well as 18.0 claimed in the settings by installing the 20.1.1 .ipcc then copying the files inside the stock .bundle to /user/Library/Carrier Bundles/iPhone/Verizon_LTE_US.bundle as oppose to swapping out the whole .bundle itself. Now I'm scared to do anything else like touch CommCenter because I FINALLY got my iMessage working again and have a feeling I'm just going to go back to "Network Unavailable."

No you don't need to install it again you're all good.

.
So, I really don't see any difference. And, it seems a bit slower. And my dbm is higher now. Ugh.

Do I have to reboot twice to see a difference? I didn't do that.

That's how it is for some people, I think me included. Be careful if you want to uninstall. I think the simplest way to get it back from there (which I should have done) is to remove CommCenter then reset network settings and don't mess with anything beyond that.

I'm on a 5S with verizon. Could you use my iPhone folder

Resetting network setting after removing the commcenter will not restore the stock carrier bundle.

The original file must be placed in the correct folder.

I suppose? Just place it in the Carrier Bundles under System?

Ahh. Strange. I guess the system just says 18.0 but 20.1.1 is still being used?

By the way, thank you for the time you're putting in to help me.

The middle bundle is the one that I put in. The other two are the originals. I didn't put it here, it just went here. To revert back to the original, would I just delete the 20.1.5 and remove CommCenter and reset network settings?

OH MY GOD I FIXED IT. I don't know how, but I did. I think just with enough playing around of putting the .bundle where you told me to as well as deleting any of the old files from the hack. I feel better knowing my VoLTE option is back. I had messed it up so bad it wouldn't even show my phone number in iTunes.

Honestly, maybe it's cool and works, but I'm moving on Monday and won't have Internet, so I don't want to risk anything messing up my speeds or data altogether since I'll be using my hotspot for like a month. Maybe I'll try it again once I move to test out the speeds since I'm pretty sure I can manage to put everything back together now.

Wait a minute. You deleted the hacked carrier bundle, then reset network setting and you got 18.1 back?

Well for the part you're quoting, before I messed everything up really bad, all I would have to do for my settings to say 18.1 again delete CommCenter and reset network settings.

But then I really messed things up by deleted too many files because I was paranoid I didn't get rid of the hack completely. To get it working again I put the .bundle where you told me to, as well replaced all the files in folder /user/Library/Carrier Bundles/iPhone/Verizon_LTE_US.bundler with the stock ones, deleted anything extra in the stock folder, and deleted other stuff in the carrier bundles folder labeled with 20.1.1. Then rebooted, maybe a couple times. Then it said 18.1 in the settings, my VoLTE option was back, and then I deleted CommCenter reset my network setting, and surprisingly, everything was still there and working.

So yeah, I don't think I'm going to mess with it for a bit.

Sadly my suspicion was correct... I did a few battery tests, and in fact the carrier hack does decrease battery life.

I tested by leaving the phone in the same spot...

With the hack installed, I experienced battery drain of about 11% per hour streaming music over LTE with the brightness turned up.

Without the hack installed, I experienced battery drain of about 7% per hour streaming music over LTE with the brightness turned up.

It's clear that the hack increases the power output of the phone, thus allowing higher throughput. For many I see it as a positive, but for me I'd rather have the better battery life. The difference in speed is negligible and for those saying "I went from 5mbps to 45mbps, I really question that" ...

I've uninstalled it using the directions on the iTweak page, and I'm back to normal and getting the improved battery life on 18.0 ... hopefully the OP will create something that can increase some of the options that are given with this tweak, without compromising battery life.. but then again that's like saying I want to get more horsepower out of my car without costing fuel efficiency, hehe.

Oh. Hmm. Since it reported my carrier version reverted back to 18, I just assumed resetting network settings worked. Well I did back up the original files. Will compare them later.

This is not good. I removed the hack.

i dunno...i've been using my phone the same way i always use it last 2 days, and do not see any difference in my battery usage.

i DO see a better signal with the phone, and my DL speed is somewhat better than before the hack.

keeping it!

I had the same experience. But some dude on reddit begs to differ and my question got down voted.
I am also trying to find if the carrier hack drains battery. And after using it for a few days it seems like it does.

You guys are brave.
I'm not touching anything near carrier commcenter files.
The carriers know their network, the devices on it, what values work best, what sites are added, updated or removed and how each device will connect best.
Tons of engineering tech and work goes into that from wireless providers and it's not something without great knowledge and details on the particular network should be done or be toyed around with.

I also uninstalled it using the directions under Revert Guide, here: http://www.itweakios.com/downloads

This works perfectly to revert the hack. It's from the iTweakos website:

1. In iFile or some other file system browser for iOS, navigate to var/mobile/Library/Carrier Bundles and delete the entire folder named iPhone.

2. Tap the remaining folder, Overlay, and delete all files located inside of the Overlay folder.

3. Exit the file browser and reboot the device 2 times. After the 1st reboot, allow the device to acquire cellular signal, then proceed to the 2nd reboot.

4. Your device should now be at stock settings.
