When I access my carrier plan options right now (in settings on my LTE iPad), there is a Tmobile prepaid $10+tax per month option for 2GB per month. I imagine with taxes that would really be more like $13-16. I've tried to understand the comparative options on the Verizon and AT&T websites, and that seems easily the best for budget usage. Especially since it looks completely independent of your regular carrier bill.

The plan I actually pay for as an AT&T customer is "$10/mo" (~$14/mo with tax) to add my iPad to my shared family data plan. So about the same as that standalone tmo plan but instead of 2GB/mo it just pulls from the same shared 30GB/mo as my family's iPhones.

But man that $200 cellular fee is steep for useless 5G. I'm in a suburb of a major city (Austin, TX), and my LTE devices often struggle to reach 3Mb/s download speeds. Apple wants me to pay for 5G when I'm still waiting on LTE speeds to roll out?
thanks.. I think to get the $200 prepaid plans are excluded.. I’ll check with my family ATT plan to see, I’d do $10 a month (plus tax of course) to get a discount and have some data on the device. Historically, the cellular model was only $150 more than the regular model and in some cases included some better GPS or WAAS capability but with this model I’m not sure. It does seem like a decent premium at this point and one should probably really think they need LTE/5G on device vs. just using hotspot on a mobile phone.

I've had an LTE iPad since the original Air (2013), and back then, using hotspot from the phone was really tedious so ~$14/mo was always worth it to me. Now I'm just kind of used to having it, but in all honesty, Apple has made automatic hotspot from the phone soooo much smoother that I couldn't in good conscious say the cellular models really offer that much value any more. And what used be to +$130 now being +$200 isn't helping. I doubt someone like me could even get the carrier credit since I'd be transferring an existing tablet subscription from the old iPad to the new one.

I'm not seeing any 2021 iPad's on Verizon Wireless's website? Am I missing something or must it be ordered through Apple? I ask because Verizon always offers the 0% monthly financing, which is great since I can use that money to invest and make a better profit.

I would assume that carrier sites won't show the new models until they're also actually orderable from Apple. Right now even Apple is just previewing them, can't really pre order much less order.

I use an Apple card for 0% financing (though 12 mo is the only option I've seen) and get 3% cash back too. Not as high as the 5.25% I could get on my BofA card, but can't pay off over a year like I can on the Apple card.

Looks like this is when you order from Apple directly. Just click on the link they show in the article when you're pricing out a new iPad Pro.

Thanks. I was hopeful some carriers would offer it direct, with the promo. Guess we'll have to wait until the 30th.

Interestingly, this offer is shown on *any* iPad page on Apple.com. It's not a promotion limited to the Pro line. Any iPad with cellular can qualify for this promo. So yeah... if they're not running this promo right now on other iPads, probably don't need to hold your breath too much for the 30th.

Exactly same here. Much easier than hotspot. Guess just depends on how much use outside home or don’t mind using public WiFi. I do not.

Probably not. I pay $20 / month for unlimited.
How's that been for you? I dislike that they supposedly throttle video quality, but I'm not sure how much that would matter. Outside of that, is there anything else that you're limited on when connected via cellular? (provided you have a good signal speeds, obviously).

I haven't observed any throttling. Video quality for my plan is limited to DVD quality but, it certainly looks much better than that.

Nice. So you're able to download apps, updates, and files in Safari without issue then? I should just take it for a spin for a month. Just waiting for coverage to improve a tad where I live, which should happen as they reconfigure Sprint towers and such.

I have no problem downloading apps or iOS updates, unless I am in a bad location.

That's the plan I normally use. I don't see anything in the fine print of subscribing to the post paid deal for a few months, getting the gift card and switching back to the prepaid. Spend $30-$60 to get $200 seems like a no brainer on T-Mobile

Same idea I have. Cheapest 10gb a month plan to qualify that I can get is $30 a month. So, makes the rebate $140, but still a good deal with T-Mobile.

Not sure how much a good deal about this offer no matter what carrier. You do get $200 towards the service which is nice if already want. However, most say need to keep a year and the $200 does not even cover that. AT&T even worse at 30 months. If really don’t use cell service that much then it’s bad deal. Pretty much targeting those that have not had service.

It is a good deal with T-Mobile, as you can cancel after two months.

Edit: @Wags Sorry for some reason it didn't send the rest of the message!

It's an esim. I totally forgot there was a SIM for this thing!

Did you have any issues submitting for the rebate? I tried after setting it up and it did not take it. Maybe I have to wait until tomorrow though.
