I'm thinking most of the initial batch of Apple orders, (IE: Those who got in, before the shipping changed.) will probably update at once, as a batch thing.

I did and was charged immediately, but mine also still shows processing.

I was also charged immediately. does that mean good things about when our orders ship? do later shipments not get charged immediately ?

Under credit laws, they aren't supposed to charge, until an item actually ships. In theory, an immediate charge should mean that their intent is to ship immediately.

I say in theory, because I think many still show as just a pending charge.

oh really? okay that makes me feel better I guess. not really. I'm so excited and impatient lol

I just got a shipping confirmation from AT&T for my 32GB Silver 5S.
It was picked up at Ft Worth TX, should get to my house at 2PM Monday! :D:cool::apple:

I ordered the Silver 64GB on Apple.Com at 3:06AM Friday. I thought ordering from Apple was the better decision. However, now I'm seeing that AT&T/Sprint/T-Mobile orders placed at the same time have already begin shipping for a Monday delivery.

I'm stuck at 'processing items' on the online Apple store.

Any idea when Apple will begin shipping? I'm bitter that carriers seem to be shipping faster than the source.

Same thing here. My Apple confirmation was 3:04 AM and I have nothing yet it looks like AT&T orders are arriving as early as Monday.

Seems odd that Apple would supply AT&T with phones to ship almost immediately, and not have their own stock on hand stateside ready to ship themselves..

My guess is that the phones ordered from Apple are sitting here in the states somewhere in a warehouse, and we may see the status of those orders quickly change from processing to preparing for shipment to shipped by Monday...

Or, maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part

I assume you mean their merchant agreement with their processor as their is no law on point. And no merchant agreement requires this. They can charge whenever their Terms of Service permit them to (or whatever you agree to otherwise).

Many places don't because it simplifies cancellations and general consumer expectations.

I hope this. I really thought ordering from Apple was best. But I think AT&T is showing me now that it wasn't. I'd love to have my 5S by Monday. A dream that would be! :(

Charge to Bank Account

I've had the charge to through with my bank card. But it's odd that it's not
one transaction but it's three transactions from the apple.com store for varying amounts. it all add up though, strange. Any one have a similar experience?

My leather case has shipped (from Harrisburg, PA). Order 3:02am from Apple.com. Delivery expected Sept 26.

My 64GB Gray 5S still processing.

The only orders that have shipped from AT&T are 16GB versions (3 colors) and 1 32GB that was space grey, the rest of us are still waiting for AT&T to update the status to shipping. So a 64GB silver would not have gotten to you on monday most likely even if you did order through AT&T.

My 64gb silver I ordered from ATT shipped today.

Also, apple always does there different. They ship the items before a tracking number is posted to the order status alot of times. Has happened for me on iPhone and macbook launches before.

Apple is ruining my day. What is this nonsense of AT&T having available stock before Apple. the heck.

I ordered a case along with my 5s and the case now shows "prepairing for shipment" hope the status of the phone follows soon.

Apple wants customers to show up at their stores.
The message was clear: "If you want to be the first, come to our store!"

This was a marketing decision.

My guess is that the phones are available, but they want to sell to store customers first.

Also: When I ordered my iPhone 5 there were people that ordered online at the first day. They were getting replacemets via express exchange while I had to wait 4 weeks for my first phone.

I think Apple is delaying online orders to avoid returns by those folks who return everything these days ...

I ordered from AT&T (we have a FAN discount, so we *had* to, I believe, but whatever), and was pleasantly pleased to see that my phone has shipped and will arrive on Monday.

Same, I was actually trying to order from Apple, looks like it worked out better this way!

I am never ordering from Apple again when it comes to the iPhone.. It's obvious AT&T have their ducks in a row on this one.

Some of us can't just run down to the Apple store. I don't even have an Apple store in my state. This was the only way for me. Am so angry.

Sorry! Yes, it's not a law, it's actually the card acceptance agreement for Mastercard and Visa.

You need to chill! :)

Shipping statuses will suddenly start changing, likely many of them will do so Sunday night/Monday morning and they'll actually arrive speedily.

With the shipments to the U.S. that were already discovered and reported, before the launch, I don't think as many have to wing their way from distant foreign lands this year.

I'm pretty chilled tbh. Just overly excited. (Which seems to be a crime in these parts) I'm not as angry as I am on the edge of my seat. Lol. I know it's shipping soon, but it's not really gonna stop my excitement or hopes that it will happen any time now.

But yes, i'm very sure you're right. I hate the waiting game. I miss the days of Preorder already.

It's like we Preordered on release day and that sucks. :(

Maybe cut your caffeine intake a little? LOL

I understand! I was very disappointed with their being no pre-order this year. I prefer immediate gratification.

I bought an unlocked 32 GB Silver 5S.

It's $750 + $50 tax.

It's the price to pay for getting a new phone while you're in the middle of a contract.
