always happy to have better cameras. Not sure what other upgrades I would really notice.
That is the point, Apple is predominately offering camera improvement as headline feature, so that is what you are consuming, small camera improvements. If it wasn't for the camera, the whole iPhone keynote presentation could not extend beyond 5 minutes to show how fast the new A processor is, and a few new tricks of software level.

We need more, better and bigger cameras in the iPhone....said no one.

Actually, I’ll say it. iPhone is the camera I always have with me. I want them to do whatever physics and math allows them to do to improve that camera each and every year, so that the day will come when I don’t have to regret not having my DSLR handy when my kid does something worthy of a photograph.

It’s an interesting debate for sure, which many feel rather strong about. I wonder if Apple have considered separate ranges for camera spec.

I just gave my wife the iPhone 12 Pro and am using the iPhone 7 until the 13 comes out. If the battery and cameras don’t improve much I’ll just get a 12 mini.

I'm waiting for 21 Mega Pixel or better, We get nickel'd and Dime'd every model and no increase in Mega Pixels.
at Least the Software is Great.

I'm not too thrilled by the LACK of Mega Pixels ............... Not even a LEICA lens or at Least a Zeiss Lens. I expect more for the Price $$$$$$ We Pay

Just make the iPhone thicker instead of that huge bump??
Having what looks like >25% of the back is just a camera "bump", it's just getting too obvious of a money-grab for selling cases. Come on.
also get a larger battery

I have a 20Mpx semi-professional DSLR and I'm hardly ever limited by the resolution (only if I shoot in studio conditions). I can't imagine how the iPhone could benefit from such a resolution. The increase in the number of pixels would result in less area available to capture light (the photodetectors used for each pixel are surrounded by other circuitry, which means that if you fit more detectors in the same space, you need to reduce the area that actually captures light), which in turn would result in higher signal to noise ratio.

For a phone, where you shoot in less-than-ideal lighting conditions almost all the time, the balance between pixel count and pixel size should be skewed towards bigger pixels. The extra pixels are no use if they're only sampling noise.
