@kgenova - Unfortunately, Hooterville's experiences are consistent with other feedback I've read about Cupert. Kristin, do the companies whose products you review necessarily know you're a reviewer? I'm concerned that certain companies would be keen to send reviewers their A-Stock, even as average customers might be treated less consistently.

Kind regards,
Brian

They most definitely know I am a reviewer, and I agree that there is always the possibility of receiving better than average goods to review but that situation is unavoidable for any small reviewer such as myself. Purchasing all the cases you want to review is a pretty major financial undertaking, so reviewers (at least those at my level) typically request 'review samples', and both parties hope that the other will act ethically. The company hopes that the reviewer will give them a fair and accurate review, and the reviewer hopes that they are receiving a properly representative product.

Cupert has definitely gotten some bad press on this forum for their customer service, but if you take the time to read through all the Cinder posts, there are quite a few praising the quality of the Cinder itself, so I don't think it is possible that only reviewers are given good quality screen protectors. Do they perhaps have a quality control issue? Conceivably, but I really don't know.

With all that said, I'm certainly sorry that some people have had less than stellar experiences with the Cinder and I hope that they are able to get them resolved.

I should have gotten A-Stock, it cost me $48.00 and change with shipping. :(
Just sad there is zero customer service from Cupert.

I'm really sorry. Hopefully, they are just being slow and you'll hear from them soon.

Just an FYI, the Eclipse is the version of Cinder that fits more cases, just as nice IMO and also half the price.
Thanks and also thanks for the review. I was wondering what the differences were when reading their site awhile back and why the "cinder" was so much more widely spoke of.

@kgenova - Yes, I know, and I'm not worried about you. Please understand that I have no question about your integrity. (I've been enjoying your reviews for some time.)

I do think it can be reasonable and appropriate to question the practices of a business, especially one that seems to be performing so inconsistently.

Best regards,
Brian

Just my opinion, the cinder is the more well known product. I think many people think of cinder as the company, not just a single product by Cupert. I also think many people who are dissatisfied with the cinder would like the eclipse

Thanks, Brian. I appreciate your response. I think part of the problem is due to the fact that the Cinder is curved glass. Curved glass screen protectors are trickier to install and seem to have a higher failure rate. With the Cinder being quite pricey, a failed install is going to be absolutely infuriating. Add the general discontent over Cupert's slow pace at getting the Cinder out to its backers, and you have a lot of irritated people out there. How many happy Cinder users are there out there? I have no idea, but I do think it is a solid product and it looks gorgeous on your iPhone (as long as it isn't defective!). I personally don't keep screen protectors on my phone that long because I have to take them off to review other screen protectors or cases, but my teenage daughter had a Cinder on her phone for months and it was immaculate the whole time. No bubbles, no scratches, no chips.

Still zero contact from Cupert. Their phone number is also a fraud, it's a Google Voice number and nobody will ever call you back.

I would avoid Cupert Technologies at all costs.

I assume you've also emailed them? Which email addresses have you tried? There is sales@cupert.com and support@cupert.com? I'd try both, if you haven't already. Also, how long has it been since you purchased the item? Can you file a complaint with your credit card provider or Paypal or whatever payment type you used?

Yes, I've send multiple emails to all their address, called and left my name/number on their Google Voice mail and have gotten zero response.
I will be doing a charge back on my Credit Card today. Never have I seen a company with no customer service at all. I guess it matches their product.

I've also filled out all their online forms with the same results - Nothing.

So sorry you've had such a negative experience and have expended so much time and effort over this. Best of luck with the charge-back.
