Great "bumper" case but...

This is where I regret being an "early adapter" and not waiting for some more reviews to pop up.

The case is very nice, rugged and fits the iphone like a glove. The machine finish is excellent.

I have had this case for 3 days now and here are a few things to consider.

1. adds some bulk and weight to the overall phone, will not fit a holster
2. very nice snug fit, assemble with care not to break plastic connectors in frame
3. No instructions, video example makes it look alot easier. Aligning the volume buttons tricky
4. Reception slightly affected for me. In home now showing 4 bars instead of 5 bars on occassion
5. GPS reception works fine, seems unaffected when using Navigon
6. Lay on table design works great
7. 3rd party car charger by Belkin does not fit. I assume alot of 3rd party connectors will have an issue. The connector only fits apple accessories.

reebs, please report back when you do some speed tests!

that blue looks amazing, id love a grey/blue combo for sure. its such a nice case but signals issues really bother me, lol.

I'm thinking about doing this, I intially tried this but I didn't care for the blue so I took it off, but the more and more I look at it, I'm liking the blue.

As for the speed test, I took 2 in 2 different rooms in the house, not sure what all this means but here they are:

First one was taken when I was laying down holding my phone.

Second one was taken in a different room at my office sitting on the desk.

You need to test with and without the case in the same place in your home with the tests relatively close to each other in time. You want an A to B comparison.

exactly, and if you happen to put back a blue piece (or all of it) take some pictures!!!

I took this with the case off:

And with the case on:

And as you can see the test was ran 4 minutes apart.

And for the blue case, I just put it on, will shoot some photos in a few and upload, looks quite nice. I'll let the photos speak for them selves. :)

I use Speed Test too, but it varies all over the place depending on the local demand. Useful, but kind of frustrating if you want to check something like signal changes . . .

ah crap =/ , forgot to tell you to turn wifi off so you can test it on 3g . sorry :(

Do you want a test with 3G only or with wifi too? Will test and post results. Just by using wifi since yesterday, I am not experiencing any noticable slow downs and no dropped calls.

Ok here it is, WIFI OFF, Sitting in same spot on my desk on both tests, and just a few minutes apart, I'm going to be professional at putting this case on at the end of these tests

Here it is WITHOUT the case:

and WITH the case on:

Hope this solves some questions about reception issues, was on the phone for an hour last night btw while using the case, not a single drop call, looks like this case gives me BETTER reception, LOL! :)

BTW the buttons you get with the blue case are the same color as the ones that come in the Gray case.

not sure that testing on wifi would do much. i figured 3g only no? and those pics look excellent, the grey/blue mix is awesome. i wish they sold it like that though. and thanks for testing it again meltdown, appreciate it.

Ok here are my speed test results.

First pic is with case on and second with it off.

In your mixed pics, it appears that the top and bottom pieces don't align properly at the antenna dividers and the earphone jack.

Yeah I noticed that as well, it doesn't line up. I feel like the blue frames are messed up because the blue on blue wouldn't snap on and line up perfectly, but the gray on gray lines up and snaps on perfectly. And when I mix the colors somehow the sleep/wake button stops working if I push on the case after everythings installed. I'm pretty sure this issue has something to do with the blue frames. Might ask for a replacements.

Wow, so you lost 1 mbps in speed and 1 bar in signal also? That is what the pictures are showing anyways. That case would be a no go for me. That is a huge hit in speed, have you went for a drive and tested the GPS? I would imagine that if it affected your speed and signal that much that your GPS would be no different. I mean in terms of performance. That case would either go back or go into a corner if it was mine. That is just to much impact to deal with for me. But that is just me.

I have not tested the GPS, will test tomorrow and report findings. What exactly am I looking for? If it works or not or slower than normal etc? I initially said I was losing about 1 bar of service in my house. In general, I get really crappy reception in my house sometimes I only have 1 bar. I never use 3G in my house anyway, I am always on wifi. I will continue to test as I am out and about this week on 3g.

I like this case and would love to have it, but first I would like to ask some questions. First, Is this case screen protector compatible? Second, is it fun/hard to put together? Is it cool? Is the quality good? Do you like it? I'm asking so mo questions because I'm looking for a really nice non-Pouch style case, so any suggestions would be awesome.
