It was something very similar then.

The Frommy case is very thin...you can barely see it on the Iphone 3G....I am hoping the Case Mate one is just better constructed...and I believe it will. I will take pictures of both of them on my phone..

But anything to keep the Iphone case and screen from getting scratched or broken...

Leather cases are good and all but you still can drop your phone when you pull it out of the case.

I have had a Naked case (non-3G) on my iPhone for quite a while now to review. It is a very good case as it hardly adds any bulk. It is also really easy to remove your iPhone should you need to.

The only very minor negative was that if you get any damp between the sace and the iPhone screen it shows. Other than that it is very good.

There was also a question earlier in this thread about fitting into a Naked case with a Gelaskin in place. I think it would be a tight fit, but in my opinion just about possible.

This might be a good idea get the best screen protector to place over the screen...and then put naked case or the Frommy case...that way there will be no air pockets between the case and the screen. This could be the ultimate protection.

Anybody try this yet? Anybody got a tracking code for the case-mate naked case order?

Just sent a email to Case-mate...asking about shipment of my order..They said they just received the Case-Mate cases yesterday..."Orders are being fulfilled as they were placed. You should receive an email by the end of the week."

So we should be getting some tracking numbers soon.

I just got my Case Mate Naked case this morning.

A few quick observations and some photos later:
- Easy to install the iPhone in the case...a bit of a challenge to get it out but nothing too bad.
- In terms of bulk, seems like it adds a bit more than I was expecting. I bought an open-faced clear acrylic case at the Apple store when I bought the phone and it is thinner than this Case Mate case. To reach the phone lock button on top or the ring vibrate switch on the side requires you to dig your finger in there.
- The front screen protector seems to work very well. I was able to navigate around in a normal manner without noticing any slip-ups. Initially, the screen protector produces a bit more friction when trying to move around but that might just be because it's brand new. One thing I did notice is that when I turn the phone on the side to view webpages, it was a bit harder to zoom in/out than without the screen protector. A minor quibble.

All-in-all, my initial read is positive with some quibble points that are probably similar to most other cases out there.

**Edit: One other thing I'd mention, which is true of other hard cases I've bought, is that when you are talking on the phone the case is very uncomfortable on the ear. All of the cases I've ever used have the outer edge of the case raised up, which is quite painful when talking on the phone.

I just got mine also.

I can second most of what rdstoll said. Although I did not notice the zoom issue in safari. I don't have any other case, but this does seem just a bit more bulky than I would have expected.

I will also add that the fitment, at least for mine, is not completely precise. When installed, there is a bit of a gap between the front and the back halves of the case on the outside corners near the top of the phone. Probably not a big issue since dust will enter in other areas anyway.

Also, the case did not come with any packaging or literature, just a note saying they were in the process of updating their packaging, and did not want to delay the shipment for that reason.

I got my fedex tracking code today...should get my case soon.

I will still compare to the Frommy case. The frommy case is very tight...you can barely tell there is a case.

Yeah pure glass is always gonna feel and be better...but will shatten when you drop the phone when you get out of your car...its always a trade off..

I have gotten use to the Frommy screen...so if the casemate has a better fit and finish...I will use it instead.

Somebody take some pictures....of the case mate on there phone....

I must be stupid but what film are they talking about taking off?

Nevermind.....
Not a bad product. As stated before more bulk than thought. Plus some of the buttons are hard to get to. And kinda pissed off they didn't offer colors before they started shipping. The black looks good..

Got my naked case today and it's a no-go. Definitely added more bulk than I anticipated and just didn't "work" for me. I REALLY wanted to like this case and was super excited about it arriving today, but I just don't like it.

I'm sticking with my Griffin Elan Form...

After using the case for the day.. I have to agree. I'm probably just going to return the fommy case as well. Probably going to just get the contour flick....

Still excited about my CaseMate Naked case coming today. Dissapointed at the new black strip on it but we shall see.

If I don't like it I guess the search for the perfect 3G case continues...

Maybe I just need to bare it all , but if I scratch it  :(

I shall post pictures when I get a chance.

the fommy case is smaller than the case mate. At first I thought this would be the way to go, but not for me as posted before. well I was trying to take some pics but just not coming out right.... sorry guys

Few Pics and Review

So it came. I was excited. I ripped open the box. And there it was. The black strip actually doesn't look that bad. Screen is VERY responsive through the case. Very clean look under the right light. But is definitely a fingerprint/oily hands/smudge magnet. Not too bulky but just bulky enough to not be compatible with my Kensington car charger holster so disappointed with regards to that aspect. Very secure lock. Overall: B.

The search for the perfect case continues...

My camera is not very good.

The BEST case besides the fact that it doesn't fit on my Kensington car charger.

I will use it at home.

I also have a leather marware sports case I have been using which didn't look bad and fit my charger but did not have easy acces to the dock port or the ringer on/off switch...and the bubbles under the little plastic piece for the screen were horrible.

I will use that to workout.

I'm a perfectionist though. I need to be able to do all that I want to do with my case. I'm a 21 yo responsible college student, no pets, very iPhone friendly environment so I'm gonna make one last attempt at the AT&T store. An option I bypassed originally due to my prior research of the iPhone 3Gs coming.

A case that shows most of the phone but covers the edges for scratch reasons. I will never drop that thing on its face. Never. If I don't find anything I like....

IN THE BEGINNING...

ADAM & EVE ...

I'm baring it all, like the celebs do because they have enough money to get another one. This gadget is a natural beauty. Case is optional.

thanks for the pics, just as I thought, I'm not liking that rubber design thing on the front case. The rest of the case look ok though. how about the back of the case?

I Got A Knock Off on Ebay

supposedly it's the same case. can anyone verify if you get the slight bubble (air or moisture ya got me) under the front? I find by pushing on the case, it goes away but can come back.

I don't mind the bulk, it doesn't work with some accessories true (particularly an external battery which sadly I have to use)

ug still haven't even received shipment notification and i ordered and my account was deducted on the aug 10th.

Lame
