It most certainly does. And it’s relatively cheap at $11 a month... Maybe it’s only in California?View attachment 1692489
Yes, Apple upgraded AppleCare+ two years ago to AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss. It didn’t use to cover theft and loss. And the new AppleCare is really quite expensive. $300 upfront and then an additional $269 or something like that if the phone gets stolen... Not worth it, IMO.

The replacement fee is $149, and the monthly cost is $11.50

It’s a lot of money when you consider most home contents insurance policies cover devices for damage and theft for as little as a £20 additional cost. Some add it in within the policy. AppleCare+ seems like a very expensive way to cover your phone and I think many get caught up in assuming it’s convenient when they don’t realise other policies are just as simple and less expensive. I wouldn’t bother with it personally but don’t really care if others do.

AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss is $299 up front, or $14.99 for 24 months. The replacement fee is $269 for any phone after the X. I don’t understand where you get your numbers from.
EDIT: Sorry, it seems those prices were for the X/XS line of phones. AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss for the 12 and 12 mini is $219. It’s all quite confusing with different prices depending on phone models. Also, apparently AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss is only available in the U.S. 🙄

From my understanding, the replacement fee is only $150

Up for this topic. How many of you are still going caseless??
I am still going caseless on my mini. I tried a leather case and just didn't like it, it took away from what is so cool about the mini. So, I have a tempered glass screen protector, and I have a leather pouch that it is in any time I am taking it out of the house so it doesn't get damaged with a drop, or get scratched when it's in my coat pocket or whatever. It is easy to hold onto so I have no fear of dropping it when actually using it- the phone looks flawless so far.

I imagine the Mini would be a lot easier to use without a case, because of the smaller size and better fit in my hands.

Still don't think I'd be brave enough to do it though!

Me. Only with tempered glass on the front. (I had some scratches on my XS I didn't like when selling after two years so it's worth it even I don't like it. 😀 )
I usually sell my current phone when I upgrade that's why I use a case and screen protector. The price difference between a mint phone and a phone with scratches can be enough to justify using them.

My biggest concern is the hassle I'd have to go through getting my phone replaced if I were to drop it. Especially in a COVID world, so if there's a chance a $10-$20 case and screen protector (not that they're foolproof) may save me from going through the motions, I'm all for that. LOL

Yeah, but selling the older one without scratches is selling better to my experience.

I tried a case on my X and on my Mini - couldn’t stand it for more than a week. Both phones are too gorgeous to be covered up, and with the Mini in particular I just couldn’t stand the extra bulk while carrying it in my front pants pocket. Besides, I’m super careful with my phones, so they are both still in mint condition. Also, I’ve found that cheap cases can cause scratches (dust/speck collection gathering between the case and the phone causing many tiny scratches) which I wouldn’t otherwise have gotten while carrying it case-less. I’ve always found screen protectors annoying and useless, in my case.

Yeah, I totally get it. This is the first phone I’ve ever used without a case- but I figured since I never once dropped a phone, and will use the pouch when carrying it around out of the house- I’d give it a shot.
So far so good. :)

Just ask because sometimes I decided to put case on but every time, after few days, came back naked 😂 now I’m using naked also my iPad Pro 12.9 2018 and it’s a real pleasure (with a new good foldable stand when I’m at desk).

If the glass on the back is as soft as the glass on the front, I wouldn’t advise going caseless to be honest.

Check out the Caudabe Sheath, it’s a super thin case and their Veil version is even thinner again.
Caudabe Sheath is the best there is. Black one is just right in terms of thinness and gripe - and very subtle.

I just started going caseless on my 12 PM. So good so far. But i guess my sweaty palms would do some damage.

The back glass is one of the reason I still going with case.
And the older I get, the more frequent I found myself knocking my iPhone into things, LOL.

Caudabe Sheath is my go to now. But it still feels a bit too thick. I used to use 0,35mm ultra slim case from SwitchEasy, but no drop protection concerns me.

Also for my iPad Pro I’m going only with Folio. No case, no keyboard. I bought AC+ and after a week I dropped it. Just a few scratches because those magnets didn’t hold up that strongly. But happy that I bought AC+ because I never dropped an iPad in my life before. When things with pandemic gets better I will visit nearest AS for a check. I was really lucky.

I miss the old smart cover for my previous Air 2! So much better than folio case!
