Dog also.

I can't imagine a cat running ferociously up to you wagging it's tail so hard it's about to fall off when you get home. Then trying desperately to lick and paw you to death.

Not if you have a litter box.....

I enjoy going for walks/runs with my dog, throwing the ball or frisbee and swimming/boating/kayaking....not something you'd do with a cat.

Uh..better than picking up poop off the sidewalk. :) And you can leave them alone longer.

ah, the poop isn't as bad as the urine...dogs don't have that issue.

its a matter of personal preference....we have both and the enjoyment from having the cat isn't really there for me - and we take the dog with us most of the time.

Both

Alright I'll post a sensible reply now. We have had cats, dogs cats and dogs and fish and dogs and birds, etc, etc.

Currently we have 3 dogs (2 Pekingnese and 1 Tibeten Terrier). But tomorrow we could have a cat!

So in summary I like both as much as each other.

When we were younger, my sister had a dog like that. Whenever one of us were back from school it almost attacked us, wagging and licking and whatnot in a seemingly desperate way. It's nice to be welcomed, but this was insane.

But.. whenever someone entered the door who was not me, my sister, mother or father, it also "attacked", but in a "Get the hell out of here." way. It didn't actually physically attack, just barked, and barked, and barked... etc... (I'm still suprised that it never actually harmed anyone).

We later heard that the dogs sister was slightly addled in the brain. I guess it ran in the famility.

My sister also had a dog prior to this. A small one. From day one it barked at everyone it saw (except for this one person who occationally visited my sister. Seems like they connected somehow). I don't think it every physically attacked, but it didn't stop barking and appeared very agressive. My dad eventually had to do the rifle treatment.

We later heard that its previous owners had been very abusive. No wonder it was so agressive.

I like cats, myself.

Cat- low maintenance and despite what some people think, very friendly a loving when raised correctly and treated with respect.

Sorry had Cats and Dogs in the past. Please note the following is a generalisation, there are exceptions in both cases.

Cats- Low maintenance granted, give affection when they need it/you, ...oh can't be bothered with this... listen Cats are just large rats and selfish with it. Ever talken a Cat for a walk?

Dogs are just the best pet you could possibly ask for. Oh and I've never classed small lap dogs as 'real' dogs...mmmm perhaps I need some caffine...or maybe not.

You should meet our cats then.

I would say that domestic cats are more like tigers, only small.

As for being selfish, I don't buy it. They often bring home what they kill, be it mice, lizards or birds.

Supposedly a sign of "love".

One of our cats (Lola) fetches. She has little fuzzy mice that she will trot in and drop at your feet. You chuck it and she'll scamper and fetch it and bring it right back to you (more or less).

Both are good - they have different things to offer, although I lean more to dogs. That's likely because we always had a couple of dogs running around the house when I was growing up. At one point a few years back, we had two dogs (Chow for me, Pomeranian for the missus) and one cat (daughter's) in our home.

That is a cute picture stubeef. Dottie a nice looking Dalmatian. Is she a registered purebred? Your a lucky father to have such a nice look daughter, Christina cute.

One of our Cairn Terriers was raised by the breeder with cats. So she is a little of both worlds. She has many cat like traits. Very agile the way she jumps around.

It is strange, I used to be mainly a cat person and was afraid of dogs (when I was a kid) but now I like dogs very much.

I really like small dogs like pugs, beagles, maltese dogs, and I recently visited a family that had a cavalier king charles spaniel. That was a really friendly dog. :)

I would have to say that I am an all around animal guy. My house is really a menangerie. 2 labradors (black and chocolate), one chihuahua who was raised as a labrador... so he thinks hes big, and doesnt act like any lap dog I've ever known. One devon rex cat (think mr. bigglesworth with some fuzz), also thinks she is a dog and one green wing macaw... It isnt as species challenged as the others. Very bird-like, but very friendly and talkative.

But, I would have to say I prefer the smaller critters, Izzy and Fiddle (the chihuahua and and the cat) are my favs.

I'm also partial to OS XI - Dingo I think it would sell like hotcakes.

She was a rescue dog, found wondering and turned over to a breeder I was in contact with at the time. Infact I was waiting on a runt of the litter between the Canadian Champion Dal and the US Champion Dal. There is/was a lady in a nearby city that was a world renown Dalmation Breeder, and I was in contact with her. We got Dottie in 94 before the excitement of the 101 dalmations movie. She is as sweet as a dog gets, I have had 3 girls growup tugging on her and she hasn't even snipped once. In fact if one of the girls is crying within 5 houses of ours, she starts to cry! Pretty wild.
