I just received an email from iSkin showing a new design which has "wrap around fingers" on that long edge which they call "CoverLock" as it also keeps the smart cover from detaching if pulled too hard. This would eliminate any gap along that long open edge that you are pointing out.

Did they say you needed to return your old one?

They said in the original e-mail that they wanted to me to return the old one but they never sent anything with the new one saying I had to return it and they didn't provide a return shipping label.

Should I just keep my old one?

Nope he didn't mention that so I'm not sending anything back unless they send me a label. And because I'm still in the same boat!
