Just curious when installing is it more like plastic screen protector or glass? Like glass I mean like it goes out nicely with very little air bubbles.

I ordered mine on Friday and they seem to have shipped it and now waiting. I’m using a glass screen protector with a cheap ebay snap on case(no magnets) and I seem to have touch problems and hoping that the MD wone would solve it. Touch seem to be okay when I’m holding the ipad with both hands and its not on any surface though... very weird and inconsistent issue.

Latest MediaDevil Magicscreen is more like a thicker film. I had a few bubbles but they all disappeared just by using the hard credit card sized applicator that came with the pack. I spent a good 5 minutes going over the protector area, making sure I had hadn’t missed any and it was worth it. Using the hinge method made life very much easier, trashed the first of the two in the pack ( didn’t use hinges) thanks to my hamfistedness.

Re the ‘cheap’ snap on case...you may be ok, the similar ESR case that I tried didn’t cause any issues. Have used Apple folio or keyboard since. Good luck!

Perhaps if the glass manufacturers made thinner ones, touch sensitivity would not be affected as much..

Thanks Callum for working with us on this problem!

I have created a short video showing the problem:
The iPad is in the MoKo case with magnets available on Amazon. I think it’s sold from different brands.

If I only use my finger you see the stuttering. When I touch the iPad frame with my other hand it works.

Thanks,
Mike
I get the exact same issue, and everything works 100% perfect as long as I’m touching any part of the metal edge/bezel with other hand. But the same screen protector is not giving me issues on the new 12.9, only on my 11”.
[doublepost=1543778669][/doublepost]
The main issue I found with screen protectors is on the Ipad Pro 11". I currently have both 12.9 inch and 11 inch, none of the tempered glass screen protector affects apple pencil usage. However, on the 11" the finger touch responsiveness is greatly diminished when using a tempered glass screen protector. On the 12.9" I never had any finger touch issues after applying the tempered glass screen protector.

I will also add that I have the Apple smart folio case on the 11" and Apple smart folio keyboard on the 12.9". I do see that the touch responsiveness is particularly affected when the Ipad Pro 11" is in the standing position or laying flat on the table. The touch responsiveness problem fades away when I'm holding the Ipad Pro 11" in one hand and using it with the other. There is also a weird case were if I put 1 finger anywhere on the bezels, and use the screen with my other hand would greatly reduce the touch problems also. Once again, the 12.9" Ipad Pro doesn't seem to have any of these issues.

Both screen protectors are installed "perfectly", no dust or air bubbles. I can't say why it is happening but from the forum posts I've seen, it seems more prominent on the Ipad Pro 11. My speculation is that it has to do with the new arrays of magnet on the back of the Ipad Pros. The Ipad Pro 11 is particularly affected because there is a higher "magnet per inch?".

Just wanted to report somethings I noticed.
Same exact issue here, I have both the new 11” and 12.9” with same brand tempered glass screen protectors, only the 11” is giving me trouble with very inconsistent touch response unless I have my other hand touching any part of the bezel, then it works perfectly with no missed touch commands at all.

Ordered the MediaDevil one off Amazon, I wonder what the results will be on a 12.9" with an Otterbox case.

The 12.9 seems to be having less of the touch response issues, my 12.9 with a tempered glass screen works 100%, my 11” doesn’t work well unless with the same
Brand screen protector unless I keep my other hand touching part of the metal bezel.

Same with me. Without case or touching side metal of the ipad 11” seem to reduce/reduce touch sensitivity issue.
Yeah, it’s nice to pin down what the issue is that’s causing unresponsive touch, but certain situations like using the on screen keyboard I can’t keep a hand touching the bezel so it’s not a perfect fix, although at least I can use my iPad until I get a few more protectors to try that are supposedly thinner and work better. The weird thing is that sometimes even without thouching metal everything seems to work but then minutes later goes back to being unresponsive.

The theme here seems to be that glass is not an option for the new iPPs, period. I went film and it is perfect. I would suggest others follow suit. I still cannot believe MR has not reported on this.

I have now ordered a MediaDevil. I have a TechArmor Ballistic Glass currently but the touch issues are just too much. It's actually effecting my work.

So, after 23 pages... Is it safe to assume the 11 & 12.9's do not fall into the same camp.
12.9's are functional with Glass protectors, yet the 11's are having issues unless using MediaDevil product.
Short/sweet... is this an accurate overall?
I have the 12.9 and glass screen protector and having scrolling issues like the 11inch that are being reported on this forum so its not just the 11inch model having touch issues.

I thought I saw a YouTube video where they used a SuperShieldz updated version glass screen protector on the 12.9 with no issues with scrolling, Face ID or the pencil. I could be wrong.

I'm starting to believe the issue is conductivity pertaining to the magnets. Everyone could have different experiences depending on screen protector materials, type of case used (magnet vs clip in), and how the iPad is being held or laid down flat.

Just got the media devil delivered to me in NYC it came USPS. I didn’t pay for express. So USA should start receiving this week it looks like

Working great so far. Tremendous difference compared to the past. It is a plastic film, feels like a regular non glass screen protector. I’ve used glass all my life so this will take some getting used to

Had the same issue on my 12.9 3rd gen. Low touch sensitivity and missed touches although the pen worked fine. Then I went to settings and disabled multi tasking gestures. Ever since my sensitivity problem seems to be solved. Sounds like a software issue with IOS.

Sheesh. I think I finally found a screen protector that works 100% of the time on my 11”!! Read good reviews and gave it a shot.
Applied it 10min ago and so far I can confirm not a single issue. Quality is great, it’s a good bit thinner than the previous tempered glass protector I had which could be what’s helping, it has a cutout for the Face ID lights and camera so that works 100% of the time as well. Not a single missed touch yet.

If anyone is interested it’s this one: https://www.amazon./gp/product/B07KBFZT6Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is the one I had until I tried the Tech Armor recently. I had touch issues if the iPad was in the Smart Keyboard case, but had no issues if the iPad was not in a case or if it was plugged in. I should of tried it with gestures turned off as well....

You’re right I Think I spoke too soon out of excitement. Moved the iPad to a different surface and seems all issues are back. Sooooo f’n frustrating and wasted so much $ on screen protectors. lol guess ill wait till issue is fixed.

Well the issue for me becomes obvious in Safari, I’m especially unable to go forward and backwards in pages by swiping the side of the screen, unless I touch any part of the bezel then every single swipe works. It’s driving me crazy cause sometimes it seems like everything is working and then minutes later on the same surface, same folio configuration, everything goes haywire again. I’m stumped.
