Maybe I've missed any comments on this topic, but has anyone found a tempered glass protector that doesn't cause jitter when the pencil is used? I've tried a couple of different brands but both drastically decrease the accuracy and fluidity of the pencil. I haven't really had any huge issues with touch sensitivity but I end up removing it after a short while because the low writing/drawing smoothness is just too annoying to deal with.

Im finding that I do get touch screen issues after all with the Omoton protector, but only when the device is left flat on a surface, so it’s not a big issue for me as I generally hold the device while using.

The issue I’m thinking about is when using the iPad in a cases stand mode to write an email with the attached magnet keyboard, or an artist wanting to use the pencil.

Short update after two weeks of experience with the media devil on my 12.9: no issues so far.

My thinking is if I’m going to spend almost $30 for plastic I might as well get the official Zagg glass for $40. It’s on sale right now.

I’m sick of the Apple Pencil scratching the PET protector that I use so I’m going to undertake the daunting task of trying to put glass on the iPad again. I’ve switched to Spigen glass from film on my XR finally thanks to their alignment tool and it was super easy to put on, and just required a few lifts to remove dust with some tape and it’s now perfect. I’m going to try to do the same with my iPad Pro 11. I’ve avoided glass until now because it was harder to remove dust underneath and it used to be like one for $15-$20, now it comes in multipacks so it’s getting more affordable.

Two things I need - no problems and easy alignment, because alignment is always where I **** it up the most. What’s the best glass protector out right now that doesn’t involve paying like $50 for one (looking at you Zagg)? Does Apple Pencil scratch glass like it does PET? I would assume it doesn’t.

I don’t really want a matte protector because I don’t like how they look, I use my iPad for more than just drawing on.

I am finding the same, but I haven't correlated it to table/in hand. What I think I'm seeing is that when my hands are really clean the screen sometimes doesn't register my touches. If my hands have a more normal amount of skin 'oil' the screen is more responsive. I haven't googled how touch screens work, but that doesn't seem like a surprise?

I haven't seen any user reports on the new Zagg glass screen protector - did I miss it?

Just a word of caution. Do NOT try and use any of the glass screen protectors currently available for the new iPad Pros. The touch response becomes SERIOUSLY wonky. It is so bad I thought I had a hardware issue with my brand new 11" iPad Pro.

OMG. RIGHT?? Same problem. But AppleCare blew me off. "No reports in our archive." Seriously? After launching this $1500 tablet, I find out I can't' protect the screen. Crazy.

I have had eight perfect iPads.

I bought the 11 pro. I am having the same problems which usually bypassed me.

I bought a cheaper screen protector until Zagg came out with one.

My unit does not have the reported frame bend which is not a defect according to Apple.

This is the first time I've have a physical problem in all nine. The screen is an iffy thing.

One thing for sure it is unresponsive. I have to pick it up off any flat surface to get the screen to work at all.

I thought is was the cheap screen protector which fit perfectly. I was just about ready to order the Zagg version until I made a final search.

There is a defect in the screen that was not there in the past eight I’ve had as perfect in and out as humanly possible.

The edge to edge screen still has a significant border.

The swipe up once is more like three to five. Face recognition is a pain all the time. It rarely works the first time in landscape mode. Camera covered.

Game play is a real problem. Unresponsive and there is no fix.

Thank you for the info.

To anyone that has the MediaDevil protector, does the Pencil scratch it? Or is it the same as all the other PET protectors? Also is it clear, or matte? Seems like the best of both worlds - the ease of film installation but the protection and use of glass, but I’m just going off their advertising. If the Pencil scratches it it’s no better than other PETs.

Yes, Apple has changed something in the technology of these new screens that right now makes screen protectors a no go. I suspect this is going to go viral soon. I feel very sorry for all the trusted glass screen protector manufacturers on Amazon right now. Yikes!

Can you recommend one for the 11”? I just ordered one myself off Amazon. Hoping it won’t cause the issues glass does.
None at the present time will work. I have had eight perfect iPads. There is a defect in the screen that will never be addressed with or without a screen protector.

The edge to edge screen still has a significant border. Many apps have not been able to adjust to take advantage of the “edge to edge” screen.

Face rec is a huge pain. Camera covered. Swipe up is a process of three to five times. The screen is unresponsive and nothing will change that.

I didn’t get the frame bend. Normal, as Apple has responded to the issue. The unresponsive screen issue with or without a protector i have always used will never be addressed.

Most recommendations I read said to stick to the previous model. If you have not bought the 11 pro, don’t. Silicone has reached it limit long ago and there will never be an increase in speed.

They know that as well as anyone who ever looked it up. The huge speed claims made each year are just fairy tales.

The 11 named itself 10.5.

I also bought the “new” MacBook Air. Nothing touches it in being “pretty” but it isn’t any faster than the day the top end of silicone was reached. Long ago.

The MediaDevil (9H hardness claimed) is clear, the Apple pencil hasn’t scratched it in almost a month of everyday use. In all honesty, I prefer it to the old fashioned glass on my 10.5. According to MD, the protector is not the old style PET, it is a new material developed and manufactured in the UK.

Just ordered, I’m going to give it a shot! I see nothing but rave reviews on it.

It is so crazy to me that MR has not reported on this. I wonder why?

Read this thread. There is no screen defect per se.

Wish someone in the YouTube space could spread this story. Perhaps someone like EverythingApplePro but it would definitely catch on if JerryRigEverything or UnboxTherapy put it on blast.

Likely Apple PR is leaning on sites hard... at least the verge put on their big boy pants and stepped up, then unfortunately walked back a bit after pressure from Apple.

It looks like mediadevils iPad Pro 11 plastic protector was pulled from amazon. I don’t see it listed any longer.

I decided today to keep my IPP11. I sold my Air 2 prior to the IPP11 launch and then got the 256gb WiFi model for $799 with the microcenter deal pricematched at best buy. Had dead pixels out of the box yet since I have a two month return policy I figured I’d wait for the whole screen protector fiasco to blow over. Looks like it hasn’t unfortunately.

After mulling it over I was leaning towards just not having an iPad for the next year due to all of the issues with current models... bends, low ram, flawed screens... and then I got the keyboard folio for xmas. Since I got a good deal on it I’m most likely keeping it. I just wish I can use a protector on the damn thing.

I’ll be exchanging it sometime next month or February to resolve the dead pixel issue. Maybe by then they’ll fix the design flaws.

They still have it on their site though.

But yeah dead pixels were bad, I had mine replaced twice.

Callum from MD said earlier in the thread that they pulled the protector from Amazon to manage demand. New material so supply will I assume be ramping up. On sale on the MD website though.

After reading reviews on here by many, I went directly to their website and ordered one. Am hopeful it will work as many of you have said. Course, I have to buy the new iPP11 first, lol. Aiming for end of January...still want to sell my iPP10.5/keyboard/1stgenPencil.

Thank you for letting me know, I didn’t notice.

What was the price for the new iPad Pro protectors last month? I’m trying to figure out if they changed lately and increased the price.

Also truly wondering if there’s any special offer for forum members here as well. I’m having a hard time paying nearly $40 shipped for plastic protectors when I’ve never even payed that much for real glass for many years now, especially when Zagg is $41 shipped right now.

Only thing I can say is that it works for me...better a working plastic than a non working glass....

In all the years I’ve used glass, it’s always been Zagg. Not once have they ever let me down.

This time my choice is roughly $40 for a reputable company with lifetime warranty or a brand I’ve never heard of, at least in the US, with a technically inferior product for the same price.

I’m not bashing MD in any way, I’m just comparing two similar products, prices, and qualities.
