Has anyone had any luck with this yet, anyone found a good protector which you can use?

I’m still having intermittent touch issues and it’s driving me up the god dam wall, that’s with one on

Can someone please advise if anyone is having issues without a screen protector?

I have the 11”

Premium gorilla glass which I mentioned a few months earlier is excellent.

Only gripe is face I.d. Camera fails from front left.

Do people still have issues without the protector?

Mine is really bad just now, it’s taken quite a few attempt just to write this

Just coming back to this to update after a few months use.
The cheap glass protector I got from Amazon on day 1 of owning, is still great on touch, pencil and face unlock.
Not one issue so far

You guys all had me inspired to try my launch day screen protector. (no name brand from Amazon) I had a spare from the 2 pack I originally ordered. Still doesn't work. Touch screen sensitivity goes down the toilet as soon as I put it on, and FaceID doesn't work.

I've setup 11" face i.d. Multiple times with very limited success.
I can only suggest that my screen protectors is possibly limiting camera use.

Not convinced camera's are working like they used to via 10.5
Nice that they are everything seems somewhat off centre with photos including selfies -not that I take much of those.

And as recently mentioned faced i.d. Unlock I get arrow pointing across from my front left outwards suggesting whichever camera that is isn't seeing my face- I shall try one more reset though think this is almost certain to be screen protector related as it wasn't as difficult to setup faced i.d. Initially though further resets are being very tempramental indeed.

3rd reset of faces i.d. Unlocked screen 1st time hopefully setup correctly.

Do I need to use the official Apple case for proper touch or can I use a cheap third party case without it interfering with touch?

I am just going to tell you that if you spent the money for an iPad Pro...you should probably get an actual case and not a cheap case you just find. Take care of that thing.

A late Update to this thread:

I have an iPad Pro M5 11".

I have installed the ESR glass protector (standard version - not the armor ones) and having the same problem like the others here.

Laying flat the iPad without touching the metal frame I have touch issues.
If I set up the pad like a laptop with the Apple Smart Folio and don't touch the frame I also have touch issues.

As soon as I touch the metal frame the touch sensitiviy is back to 100%.
When holding the iPad in the hands and using it I have absolute no touch problems.

Is there any solution for this?
I definitely won't use it without a protective film.
Also a matte paper foil is no way to use.

The same touch issues appies to iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max with glass screen protectors but less noticeable …

No one more complaining about this? 😳

I only have the problem using the iPad without holding it in the hands, for example laptop position or laying on the desk.

As soon as I touch the metal frame the touch sensitivity is fixed. 🤔

Just a word of caution. Do NOT try and use any of the glass screen protectors currently available for the new iPad Pros. The touch response becomes SERIOUSLY wonky. It is so bad I thought I had a hardware issue with my brand new 11" iPad Pro.

I just returned my iPad Pro M5, and actually bought another one which I’m waiting for. Upgraded from the A16 iPad Air, which was actually amazing. At first, I thought it was the screen protector I was using on this new iPad Pro, but the responsiveness was random from the pencil to my finger even after I removed it.
Hoping this next one is better if not sending it back. This would be the second Apple product I’ve returned in two years, I was not impressed with the iPhone 16 Pro either.

Did you have tested using the iPad in the hands and then compare using it laying on the desk without touching the metal frame?

This is my only problem with the screen protector.

Touch sensitivity is good with holding the iPad in the hand and touching the metal frame.

It was touchy either way - but it seems silly to pay $1000 for a product (Apple no less) that kinda works when you hold it a certain way. The whole “holding it wrong” thing should have been fixed by now. 😉

So did you tested this or not?
Sorry so not understand you right, my english is not the best.

Again you did not answered my question if you have tested the iPad with screen protector in laying or standing position without touching the metal frame 🙁

Someone on reddit told me that the glass screen protector problems are only on the 11 inch version.
On the 13 inch version there is no problem with glass screen protector.

Can anyone confirm this?
