40 for apple's service plus 20 for sling tv plus 15 for hbo.

yeah, i'm so glad i cut the cable cord only to replace it with the streaming cord.

Why would you get both Sling TV and Apple's Service? I'm 90% sure they'll have repeating channels. Stop being a troll.

Something between PS Vue and Sling TV would be ideal. Right now I feel PS Vue is a bit too pricey and has too many channels and Sling TV has too few for the price. First one that has USA Network and Disney Channel at the same time wins my money.

----------

$40 for Apple TV service + $75 for FIOS (internet only) + $8 for netflix (or hulu, etc) + $15 for HBO Go = about $140/month

How is this saving anyone money? You can get the triple play for about the same price and it includes a DVR, telephone, 1000+ channels and internet.

Does that also include HBO? Also it's the freedom of cutting the service at any time.

Also you don't HAVE to subscribe to HBO Now (not "GO") nor Netflix/Hulu. Just get your $75 FIOS and your $40 Apple Service for $115/mo with no over the top tax and you can cancel The Apple Service at any time... you can also pay for the Apple Service with discounted iTunes cards for an extra 20% savings.

Stop whining.

optimum online ... about $150/month for triple play. this includes HBO ... right now you can get it for $85/month for 2 years (promo) but after thats done its about $150 a month. this is for 6 HD boxes.

My Current set up At&t (copper) Uverse/DSL = $27/mo; Netflix $8; Sling TV $20; Hulu =Free because my Sister pays for it = $55 a month total. Even adding Hulu it's $63 a month.

Much better than $150 a month.

I don't understand how this is revolutionary... This is the same price as what I am currently playing for the cable portion of my bill for more channels. I am all for apple "changing cable" but it needs to be cheaper than the competition, otherwise it’s just another "cable" option. As it stands, all they are doing is lowering the amount of channels you get for the same price you are currently paying.

I pay $55 a month currently if I drop SlingTV for Apple's Service it'll be either $65 or $75 a month... how much do you pay?

What cable company do you use ?

To get that on Comcast it would be around $200 and Comcast ( in my area ) doesn't offer FIOS AND after the initial special deal they start charging more and more and more.

I have Cox cable. After calling to brag on the installer, I received an escalated call and was transferred to the regional manager over my state. After about 30min worth of going over the options that I currently had and the ones that I was lacking (and why I was lacking them) I negotiated my bill down to $115/month for the next 2yrs. This includes 100 mb/s DL and 20 mb/s upload speed. The premium cable package (no additional channels such as the sports packages and things like science channel or BBC) and HBO. Combine this with Netflix 14.99 (multiple screens pkg) and Crunchy Roll 6.99 I spend a total of 137.00/ month. If I were to drop cable from my package and go to internet only, I would all together loose the option for 100 mb/s and have to go to 50 mb/s for 70.00/ month. That coupled with Apples "new" cable alternative (guessing 40.00/month) plus the remaining subscriptions and the addition of HBO Now, totals 147.00. This actually increases my bill and gives me less channels... Assuming it’s at the lower end and only 30.00/month, it just stays the same price for less channels (now if I could hand pick the channels…). This product can be good but needs some serious tuning.

I really don't understand why this is so important to people... There are so few things on TV that are actually good/substantive anymore. Anything good I find in video form anymore is literally on Youtube...

sometimes it's just nice to not have to actively think and decide what to watch.

I did a break down a couple of posts earlier than this one. I do understand that not everyone will have the same cost. I am just stating that it is not that large of a price gap nor anything like an ala carte TV alternative and still does not include HD local stations.

To be fair, "this product" has not been confirmed or laid out yet nor has pricing been set in stone. So I am still hoping it can be one of the front runners of a new way to watch TV.

Because, yeah, Apple's other products are *all* cheaper than the competition.

People are sick of paying $150 a month for the few channels they do watch and don't watch the rest.

Great TV shows like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Wire, House of Cards, Daredevil, Fargo, and so on. Live sports too.

TV Broadcasts is so such an old fashioned idea. The only things we want live are sports, local or global competitions and perhaps news!

If I want local news, global news, news from another country, live basketball, world cup live, Eurovision Song Contest, a documentary about cheese, I'm happy to pay for them - SEPARATELY or as a package!

This channel mentality has to go!

But why can't I subscribe to Daredevil only?

"1 season for the price of $X"
or
"CBS exclusive shows for $Y for 1 month"
or
"10 shows from any supplier for 1 month for $Z", or slightly less if I subscribe for 6 months etc.

Both of my appointment shows are in-between seasons and I don't watch sports. How about a NatGeo/Discovery package, then?

Well yeah, I understand that. But under delivering and over charging is in no way revolutionary (at least that is what it looks like with what has been released so far)...

The above statement is in comparison to this breakdown I submitted earlier.

$30-$40 a month?? For that kind of cash on top of a broadband connection, one might as well stay with a 200-channel cable package.

Hulu, Netflix and a coat-hanger antenna give me my local stations and all the shows I can eat for far less than this. Yes, I'd LOVE a good all-in-one-device TV/app experience, but why pay an extra $500/year for otherwise free networks?

If Verizon is charging you that for Internet only, you're being taken advantage of. They tried charging me that as well when I called to cancel my triple play bundle & REFUSED to give me the "new customer pricing" for Internet only. I cancelled service all together & went to RCN for $40/ month & couldn't be happier
