Highly recommend you go in to the store to see them yourself in person. The ceramic one doesn't look very impressive in photos, I took a leap and went from a black ss series 1 to the ceramic and definitely don't regret it.

Yeah with lousy advice like that they'll end up buyin a ceramic.
I did just what you recommended. You really have to see it and put it on.

The combo you posted has grown on me, what band is that?

Lmao, either a terrible troll or an extremely insecure person

Wrong and wrong.
I have enough electronics to charge in the morning before i leave the house, my watch can't be one of them. Cannot imagine having to worry about whether my timepiece is charged and how long it will last. Now comes the important part...my watch will be cutting edge technology 30 years from now, the Apple watch will be outdated next fall.

Don't be so quick to call someone a troll

I sent back my SS Series 2 after seeing the Ceramic in person. It's stunning and it's different from the other watches. The first time I wore it, 5 people came up to me who had Apple watches and said how sharp it looked.
It is 4 times harder than stainless steel so it shouldn't scratch and the shine in the casing shouldn't tarnish or fade. The risk is that it can crack or chip but you would need to whack it really hard to do that and AppleCare will cover it anyway. .
Because it's the edition you get the nice charger with it which I think is £50 in the Apple Store.
I have several straps....a white sport, blue leather loop, marine green nylon and marine blue classic buckle and it looks great with all of them. I plan on getting a brown classic buckle as well as that will look good too.
If Apple start selling the Nike bands seperately then I will get the white and silver as that will really set the watch off.
Yep, I have no regrets about pulling the trigger on that bad boy

You're still a troll because your comment applies to all smart watches, is generally negative and completely unrelated to the topic at hand.

Charging is easy. I put my iPhone, iPad and watch on the stand all at once and it takes literally 10 seconds.

Also, nothing is cutting edge 30 years past its release; that would be oxymoronic.

OP: make *sure* you see and feel the "lip" around the edge of the white case where it meets the screen. I hadn't noticed it in pix, but immediately noticed it in person when I tried it on. I really wanted to like it but felt it gave the watch a cheap feel, not as "of a piece" as compared to SS where the case and screen meet nearly seamlessly. That's even more true for the SBSS which has a very cool monolithic look.

Anyway, I couldn't get past it.

YMMV. I know there are folks who don't mind it at all.

Then why buy a white ceramic watch that cost over $1000? What are the advantages of picking a ceramic watch over a stainless steel watch over a aluminum watch if not to show off/make a statement? Why waste money when a $400 42mm aluminum model works just as good as a watch costing 3 times as much?
It has everything to do with showing off. It sure ain't for the resell value or extra features? It's a tech gadget that will be obsolete in 2 years replaced by a faster/cheaper model.

Because you like the looks of the Watch. Just because you spend $1300 on an AW does not mean you got it to show off. I got mine because I liked the way it looked. I don't care if anyone sees it as some really expensive or cheap for that matter Watch. I wanted because I thought it looked awesome. This comment is very naive to think people just get the ceramic to show off.

It's the Hermes single tour leather band with swapped out black link adapters.

Thank you.
When I first saw that combo I wasn't impressed. I think the black adapters make it
My watch finally delivers on the 27th

Thanks for replying

Can't say that I'm a watch expert but that ceramic white looks cheap and plastic like. I actually thought it was in the area of $300 to $500. So people without any knowledge of fancy watch materials might mistake it below aluminum like I did. If I had money to waste the stainless steel would be my pick.

I couldn't agree more with this. If you didn't know the price of all of the models and asked which one was the most 'premium', I'm almost certain most would pick the stainless. In my opinion, the ceramic just looks cheap. I have a white iPhone, and have since the 3GS, but I just wouldn't wear a white watch. I had the white sport band for my SS and I ditched that very quickly for a Milanese loop as it made the watch feel like a cheap toy. The ceramic with white and would just look daft in a business setting. I'll be honest, I'm even embarrassed with my SS with Milanese in a business setting as my main watch is a Rolex Deep Sea, and my Apple Watch is too cheap looking, too small, too dainty. But... it really like it for the fitness tracking.

I own a number of expensive watches including a vintage Rolex Submariner that was given to my father as a present from Winston Churchill. Its my most treasure possession and I only wear it on special occasions. My day to day watch for the office and leisure is a ceramic and before that i had a SS. I wore my SS with a number of bands including a black classic leather for the office, a Milanese for evenings out and a white sport for casual. I had no issues about wearing a white sport band with my SS when dressed casually in a t-shirt with tattoos on show. If people stereotyped me as being a chav because i have a cheap strap on my watch then so be it.

I dont regret the Ceramic one little bit. It is different and stands out and is my main stream watch.

Items in white do not look cheap. My 7 plus and Ipad pro don't look cheap in white and neither does my white 6 series convertible and neither will my white Merc SL AMG when it arrives.

I like the colour white because it goes with everything. White also shows imperfections less than any other colour. Black is the worst colour for any metal products for showing scratches and marks.

I love the Hermes but decided against it because it just is an SS with a different strap and watch face and yet can cost more than the Ceramic and will scratch as easily as the SS.

I dont think the Ceramic is worth the money and it is over priced for what it is but then so is the Hermes but i don't see people getting knocked for buying a Hermes watch. I don't see people getting criticised for paying over £700 for a double cuff Hermes leather strap which wouldn't be recognised by 99% of the public who would think that it cost no more than a few pounds.

Hermes leather straps are exclusive and shear quality and you have to pay for exclusivity and thats what we doing with the Ceramic.

I like to be a little different to mainstream and thats why i buy items that although expensive are rarely seen anywhere else.

A 256mb Iphone 7 plus (comes in white too) is closing in on a thousand pounds in the UK and MacBooks are nearly 5 times more expensive than a run of the mill cheap laptop.

Apple stuff costs more....its as simple as that.

I find this funny. People that say the ceramic looks cheap, but most have never seen it in person. Some how you have to justify you purchase choice I guess. There seems to be no other explanation.

I bought my ceramic because I think it's different and looks amazing. I have to dress in business wear every single day for work, and I have no issues wearing my ceramic AW. No one looks down on me, and I get complements on it all the time. I guess you can keep switching back and forth, and not be able to use your AW in business settings. I prefer to use my $1300 watch everyday.

It's a personal opinion and nothing else. I love white and own a white car, white iPhone, white iPad... but I believe white is out of vogue. I work in the automotive industry and you see this fashion with cars. A couple
of years ago, white was super fashionable. White is no longer 'cool' and has been replaced by non-metallic solid greys. I see this same trend in the electronic industry. What colour iPhone 7 is the most popular? It's not the white.

I have seen the ceramic in person, hence there reason for the post.

I bought the Space Black Gen0 watch, and debated...briefly on ceramic, but, after going to the store and seeing it in person...I stayed with Space Black, and have received it, and have no regrets. It's totally your personal taste.

I am glad they got rid of the gold model...it was just TOO expensive for what it could do...

On launch of the original Apple Watch, an Apple Store employee was showing his Gold Edition off in store. £13k for a piece of technology that would be out of date within a year is just crazy. He was under the impression that there would be a clear upgrade path for those expensive models and that Apple wouldn't just abandon those who purchased items so high in value. How very wrong he was! I'm not making a sweeping judgement, but I'm almost certain that a regular Apple Store employee wouldn't have that sort of disposable income. How very sad. He must feel like a complete fool now.

I really don't think Apple makes makes an AW that is out of "style" or not "cool" anymore. The white iPhones really have nothing to do with fashion. One of the reasons it's not the most popular color this year is because Apple introduced the two new black colors. Last year rose gold was the one of the most popular, which has a white front.

Trying to take trash about another product to make you feel better about your purchases, never looks good. Why not try and enjoy your SS, and stop trying justify why you bought it.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of strap do you use with your Ceramic when you're in a business setting?

I'm enjoying my SS perfectly fine thanks - well as far as one can enjoy an Apple Watch. They ain't no Rolex, non of them. They're all toys.

White iPhones have nothing to do with fashion? Really? You clearly have no experience of the design industry.

I'm not talking down the ceramic, only casting my personal opinion.

Uh really you don't think an iPhone can be a fashion statement? You are completely wrong. Why do you think companies spend so much money designing them? If no one cares of about the fashion of their phone, we would have the most uninspired designs. Why did Apple introduce the rose gold iPhone? Not just to say they had one.

Uh you clearly were talking it down. You said it looked cheap, and was out of style. Now had to put beyond that IMO it would have been a little difference, but you spoke in absolutes. It's is cheap looking, and it is out of style.

Honestly though, I could careless what you or anyone else thinks. I have been enjoying my ceramic AW since launch, and have had plenty of people complement me on it. A lot more then I ever got with my 1st Gen SS AW. Again get what you want, but don't try and tell others their choices are poor because you don't like them.

LOL, you have clearly misread my post. I was actually saying exact that. It's is all about fashion!

Oh... for the record, the expression is actually "I couldn't care less". Think about it, if you could care less actually means you do care?!?!

You're protesting way too much because you think I should be bowing down to you in admiration because you have a more expensive crappy toy than my SS crappy toy... it's a cheap price of technology, get over it!

Bye, you're boring me now...

My ceramic will be here next week. I am very excited.
After seeing it in person I battled not to order it. With various colored and materials available there are many options and looks.
The thing that sold me on it was I (me) like the look of it.
I paid extra for a color on my car. Same car as the the others on the lot, just a different coating; very similar to the watch.

I never understood the comparison to Rolex and why people try to make it.

Yeah I guess I did misread it if you are saying iPhones are part of fashion as is an AW.

Let's get technical then. I really don't care what your opinion of the ceramic Watch is. I did not buy it to get you or anyone else's approval. I got it because I love the way it looks.

I am not protesting anything. I don't want any praise from you, but if you are going to dog a product then at least have something other then opinion to back it up. The ceramic is not cheap at all, and will hold up a lot better then the SS or any other AW material. Now you may not prefer that style, but calling it cheap is ridiculous. Also comparing to a Rolex is crazy. Very different products.

I take it you aren't bothered by the slight mismatch in the colors, though? In terms of the lugs on the straps? Or is that overblown?
