Decided it's worth going to S4, but not sure what build to go for next. I used to prefer the plain alu look, but not really anymore. The steel seems too shiny, blacks seem quite dark although I suppose space black looks most similar to the dark ceramic (white s2 here). Just not in love with any of them really. Also don't need cellular so not even sure if I would go base model alu or steel anyway.

Not sure.
I got a 44mm to Match the gold iPhone Xs max.

Hope they bring back the edition in the spring.

This is my predicament. I love my grey ceramic as it’s perfect for work and the gym. The SS will scratch badly in the gym and the SBSS I’m nottoo keen on. The grey ceramic isn’t like the SBSS at all, as it can look quite light in certain lighting, more like a titanium/platinum.

Translation? lol

yeah yeah yeah. :)

I’m upset there’s no ceramic. But not as upset as the person I promised the S3 ceramic to is.

Sticking with s3 edition until there’s something worth upgrading to.
Go Hermès. Sure it’s $211 for a watch face (but you do get the extra warranty so it is more like $132 for the watch face), but the leather is exquisite and the watch face works well with the square design.

I’m surprised they never offered a ceramic Hermès. A better selection of bands might have helped sales of the Edition. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if it comes back as a “limited edition” in the future.

I used to like my Series 2 deployment buckle, but the leather soaked up my sweat on the edges and looked awful. I had to do the whole baby wipe thing just to even it out a bit and even then you could still see it.

The colored bands are treated leather and age better. At least since Series 3 the Hermès includes a sport band, too.

Yeah, but the colourful bands don’t go with my work attire and never even used the orange band as it’s a bit too much “look at me”. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my watch, just can get the same look (minus the watch face) for much less.

No interest in a watch that is no different than the SS. Got my wife an s2 SS and bought the Hermes band separately bc she likes it. No point in paying for a watch face neither of us would ever use. SS (and Hermes) gets scratched very easily - ceramic still looks like the day I bought it...

The new gold stainless steel looks stunning but I’m concerned with the match of bands. I love how almost any sports band looks awesome with the white ceramic.

My advice would be the black ss s4 as the screen and body blends nicely into each other. This was the model I had with series 2. This time however I took a chance with the gold ss.

These were my thoughts with the band pairing with the Gold stainless. I still might order the Gold stainless just to see if it works for me, at least I have 14 days to determine if its my ‘style’ or not. I did order the 44 MM black stainless, which I’m looking forward too with the DLC coating.

Also, another Member confirmed with Apple that the Gold stainless has a protective PVD coating, which is the same coating that protects the stainless bands on the Space gray iPhone X.

Holding on top my Edition for now. Interested in picking up a series 4 at some point though. I’ll wait to buy one used.

Yes, was me in multiple threads as everyone keeps asking in different forms lol

The back of the casing is ceramic now, so you could still have your ceramic watch...in your mind. Sort of. Be an optimist; see it as a watch that's half full of ceramic, not half empty! :)

I went SBSS for this generation since the watch back and display are glossy black (when display is off), so why not have it all be uniform glossy black? *shrug* (Bring on the fingerprints! lol)
