If I were Hyper, I'd offer home/renters insurance as a free add-on. If they truly fixed their issues they'd probably make money on the promo on the insurance + massage fears that their products are going to self-combust.

Until that day comes, avoid like the plague.

Weirdly expensive gadgets, that I wouldn't use even if I was given them. Qi2 is perfect in a car, but why bother elsewhere? Even with a power bank I'd just use a cable to charge it a lot quicker and then disconnect it again.

I really like my magsafe portable battery. When I'm out and about I can just slap it on the back and use my phone without any obstructions or awkwardness putting it back in my pocket.

I would have felt the same a few years ago, when iPhones only lasted me half a day and tethered charging speeds were rubbish. Now power banks are a rarity for me to pack- enough so that I even forgot one last time I flew! My iPhone 15 Pro Max lasts me two days on average, with a 30 minute top up enough for an extra day.

I’m disturbed by the Qi2 pricing. For most things you save maybe $10 over MagSafe. For that difference, what’s the point??
The early stuff will have stupid price tags. It always does. In 12 months, once Android phones with Qi2 have started appearing, it'll be ubiquitous and commodity pricing will be in place.

At which point I'll probably buy a new Qi2 phone holder/charger for my car, which can do better than top up 2% battery per hour while navigating...
