Chance of getting an 8 on launch day without preorder?

Missed the boat on in store pickup preorders, not gonna deal with shipping delays and missing delivery, etc.

what are my chances of getting one this friday in either of these situations:

1) lining up an hour before store opening with other non preorder schlubs
2) just walking in friday late afternoon/evening

im looking for a silver verizon 8 in 64GB. is it possible or a complete waste of effort?

I make preorder on 8+ very quick via wimdow vista pc HP
and it process really well , after complete order only take around 10 minutes ....

I think sometime pc computer run behind apple apps but there still available stock ....

I, personally, think that your chances are pretty good. And I don't think you will have to stand in line. I'm basing that on the pre orders. In fact Sams Club is still taking pre orders . . . well the last time I looked.

iPhone 8 models generally should be readily available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Your particular carrier/storage/color model may not be at every store, but it seems likely you should be able to get an iPhone

Cheers. I'd be buying it sim free from Apple (UK), guess I'll just have to casually pop in and ask.
 
Shouldn't have any issues. Had a co-worker order one last night, received shipping confirmation this morning. Plenty of them to go around on this release. So heading to the store on release day, I can't see any issues other than maybe limited in certain colors but that's always the case.

Cheers, mate. I have preordered online (64GB / Space Grey) and it delivers 27th Sep - 4th Oct. Hope I can find one in-store before then.

Chances of getting one at an Apple Store day one are pretty good, but I'd say you'd have an even better chance getting one from a carrier store like Verizon or a third party electronics retailer like Best Buy. Most "Day 1" Apple people will be more likely to go to the Apple Store instead, leaving these other stores with plenty of stock.

In the US last year, I just went to the AT&T store at like 6-7PM after I got home from work. Obviously, Jet Black was in demand last year and they didn't have any of those on launch day. The other colors for the 7 were readily available (albeit, not at all storage capacities). The 7 Plus, I think they only had Gold and Rose Gold left.

The Apple Stores had even better stock levels (except for Jet Black of course). I think every single carrier configuration was available when I checked the in-store pickup option. I was doing an iPhone 6 trade in (for $650 credit) that's why I got mine from AT&T.
 
I would hope there is a long line, but no shortage. I think it won't be bad this year, except for the iPhone X.

Were you checking the in-store pickup option on launch day?

Ideally I'd just go to work in the morning like usual on Friday, and then the in-store pickup option would become available again on Friday and I could reserve one Friday morning for later that day. I'm just not sure if the in-store pickup option is going to even show up online on launch day.

I think I checked on Saturday out of curiosity after I'd already gotten my iPhone, actually. :p

There will be plenty of iPhone 8/8Plus this week. The majority of users upgrading are those with 6 or maybe the 7. But, most users with 7/7Plus aren't upgrading to 8. They will stay with 7 or move up to 10.

What model and Carrier? I just ordered an 8 Plus SG for att last night and showing it wont be here until the 26th-3rd.

I believe he ordered an unlocked SG 8 256gb. He said he was shocked because it said 1 to 2 week wait (I see it still says that currently), but got shipping info almost right away.

O dang, Well then theres hope for me! I should of just ordered it on Sunday where I could still pick up in store. I originally ordered it on Friday when preorders went up then canceled it, Then changed my mind again and ordered it again lol

Even if I have to wait an extra week that still isnt bad at all. Apple usually overshoots the expected delivery day anyways.

I doubt “sold out” just the night right before they changed to no in store pickup they had every single model/color/size at all my 4 of the local stores around me. I think they just stop those prior and then reopen on Friday for in store pick up.
 
So people who waiting inline this yrs has alot chance to get it...,
At least first 100 people good to go ....:cool:
