Chances of getting the msn 8 beta in march?

There's a work around: http://www.leopardtricks.com/leopard/msn-in-ichat. Works pretty well, but if you have a lot of contacts you'll have to go through every one of them. And it still doesn't support AV chat.

Hmm that could be good useful but pity it doesn't support AV Chat. Perhaps once Microsoft sort out the AV in their own version developers will be able to piggy back on that to try and add it to other things such as Adium and iChat as well.

I've been using MSN Messenger for Mac 7 and it sucks... I've also tried the 8.0 beta and it's really glitchy. On Wikipedia it says that 8.0 was suppose to come out on March 2010 and I've heard nothing. I've tried Adium instead but I came from a PC last month so I'm really use to the MSN Messenger Client. Has anyone else heard any news of 8.0 to come out soon?

Well the MSN beta you've been using is actually an Alpha and wasn't intended to be released. And yes this thread is about the news we have, we have been told by someone who works in the MacBU at Microsoft that they will be releasing the MSN 8 public Beta in March but that is all we know. Bets are on it being released on the 31st March at 23:59

Well it has arrived but it might well have just not bothered it doesn't work at all for me I can't get the Video chat to work and because of the faults in it with display pictures and custom emoticons I loose features if I use that. So back to the old one
