128 gb of music that you wont even listen to in months. 64gb is fine for most people so apple is in no hurry to add a higher capacity model.

This seems to be a common response to the 128 gb request:
i) attack the requester
ii) defend Apple

The point is not that the music won't all be listened to in months, or even years. The listener wants the option to be able to listen to anything in their collection at any time. They also want this where cloud connections aren't available: like airplanes, subways, and interstates.

Secondly, 128 gb isn't necessarily music alone. There are also television shows and movies which obviously take up more space.

Usually Apple's image galleries are so beautiful and accurate, but this one is a bold faced lie:

Well done sherlock holmes! ;) Yeah it's weird... But on the other hand I found this:

It looks like as if the camera is slimmed down toward one direction, so maybe it won't be that bad after all...

GPS
I'm not exactly sure how Turn By Turn Navigation with iOS6 is supposed to work on iPod Touch 5 however from the few articles I've found I believe it has limited functionality. ??? Built in GPS would make good sense. Not everyone wants the iPhone so why should the iPod Touch have to miss out on a GPS chip. It seems that Apple doesn't realise that they could grab a bigger share of the GPS device market if they added GPS to the iPT. So someone who buys the iPT5 and needs a navigator will have to buy one separately.

VoIP Speaker
The other component I'd like to see, which was mentioned by Garsun on another thread, is to have a speaker at the top of the device, same as the iPhone, so that the iPT can be used as a VoIP phone.

Vibration Motor
A vibration feature would be cool. Useful for games, iMessage and other notifications.
:)

I'm sure the profit margin for them is similar and i don't need a phone.

The profit margin is nowhere close, a 32 GB iphone 5 costs $750, and probably is 130 to make, ipod touch costs 299, and probably costs 90 to make.

We can only hope; the fact that it has a flat back but won't be able to lay flush against surfaces is starting to irk me.

The ONLY thing it needs is a vibrator. Like the iPhone. It seems so simple!!

Needless to say, I just bought a 4S in disappointment. :p

Nahhhh I'm not so sure... If people could just pop a SIM in their iPod touch, it would take a lot of the market from the iPhone. Sure a lot of people would still want the full-featured phone, but a similar number would see the cheaper option and take it since they don't really need the phone and the greater monthly bill. You would pick the 4G iPod touch over the iPhone, and so would I. I think it's pretty safe to say a lot of other people feel the same way.

Buy an iPhone on Sprint (unlimited data) and use iTunes Match. Or get one of these: http://www.kingston.com/en/usb/wireless#wid

With the move to everything in the 'cloud', higher storage capacities are becoming less of a demand and a 'must-have' feature. This is despite the costs being nothing near what they used to be, and Apple's acquisition of Anobit. Interesting.

Im sorry but cloud in current form is not a storage solution its a back up option. There are several bad things about cloud:
- you will be renting space instead of buying it outright
-wireless data plans are just a joke you'd hit your monthly limit very quickly
- stable connection wouldn't always be possible
- variable speeds
- security breaches
- server down times

All of these are avoidable, cloud (in current form) is a step backwards in storage solutions but is useful for backing up. Any storage solution that depends on a server, internet connectivity is not a good replacement for local storage.

As I have said in several topics... 128gb is long overdue at the current price points. Since the introduction of 64gb iTunes has changed.... there are way more apps, the primary audio format changed to 256kbps DRM free and much more HD content and the addition of 1080 resolution videos.

I simply do not understand why Apple has not upgraded capacities at ALL for 3 years (4 for the nano, 5 for the classic), People's libraries get bigger over time they don't stay the same.

Everything you said.

As of today, 40% of this poll is asking for more storage space. I actually find that kind of surprising given the gadget love of this forum, and also since when 128GB is usually mentioned, it is quickly dismissed by the forum members.

I'm honestly amazed that the thinner option got a vote. It was meant as a joke.

The strap button is a welcomed addition for me.

Because the camera is now good enough to take a lot of pictures with (especially with the flash) it makes sense to use a strap to prevent it from being dropped.

I have no idea why it looks ugly to you. It's round, its metal, and it pops back in to be flush with the back when its not being used. How much more simple can it be?

They made it thinner, and lighter, improved the back, improved the camera, added a flash, gave it siri, put more features in the OS, made the screen longer, gave it better battery life, and still kept it at the same price point. If you still have a lot to complain about, then buy an android MP3 player (Creative Zen Touch, or a Samsung Galaxy 4).

You won't have a hard time finding things to compain about with those.

isn't that the "loop" button popping out and not the camera lense?

Simpler: Apple could remove the button and assume that people who want straps will buy a case with a hole in it. As of now, it'll just wasted space for me.

I agree; I ordered the fifth generation iPod touch the minute I woke up last Friday. This is without a doubt the best iPod touch ever, and that's why this thread is called "Changes I wish Were Made to the iPod touch 5" instead of "Apple Seriously Screwed up the iPod touch by Adding Features That Make the Device Unusable".

I accidentally clicked on 128GB but my pick would be Longer Battery Life. If it's going to die as fast as the 4G does I wonder if I should get it at all.

It is very beautiful though.

Wow, two votes for a thinner design. Amazing.

I wish these polls allowed people could go back and change their votes, and allowed the creators to edit/add options.

Voted "other", would like it to have as good a camera (8 mp instead of 5) as the iPhone 5. Then I could have it as a full substitute for the iPhone for iOS goodness while not having to care about camera quality when choosing another (Android) phone.

 3 people want a thinner iPod touch. I'm assuming it would come with protective gloves to prevent it from slicing the user's hands open.
