A6.
Don't pretend Apple. Don't pretend that A4 iPod touch is released last year. It was two years ago.
A5 iPod touch should be last year model, not this year.

Other: FM tuner.

Come on Apple, it's been long known that the same chip that handles the touch's WiFi and Bluetooth can also do FM. Keeping it disabled just to sell a few more Nanos is ridiculous.

I'm upgrading all my music to lossless and all of a sudden 64gb seems very limiting. Fingers crossed for 128gb at 64gb prices next year.

Given the relatively lower margin of iPod Touch and Apple's obsession on the making more money off selling their products, it was either the new processor or the new screen. I personally think choosing the screen was a sensible choice on Apple's part.

Battery life has always been an issue for me (I play a lot of games). I actually wish the iPod Touch was a little thicker to accommodate a larger battery.

Maybe if the case was thicker, the camera could actually sit flush as well which is my other (minor) issue.

An FM tuner would be good. Especially if you're somewhere where there's no wifi to access internet radio. Having radio on just the Nano is somewhat discrimination. iPT and iPhone owners also listen to the radio, do they not realise this?... :|

Expandable storage.... Oh no, wait, this is the big greedy :apple: we're talking about.

...Apple could no longer effectively price gouge then for the next 'model' up (i.e. 32, 64 GB).

Yeah, I know. I'm just rambling. It's just that iPod touch used to beat iPhone back in 2008. But now it is one generation behind.

well, why don't you buy just goddamn iphone 5 or 4s whatever? oh, new ipad?

haha, well...
  1. i have a dumb phone and don't want a contract.
  2. i have an package with my ISP and get unlimited services for $15 bux a month.
  3. the iPad form factor is too large for a pocket.
hope this helps. ;)

since last May, I moved to Korea for my business. it's the same work but I work for the branch here. anyway, Korea is not a part of country which could sell iphone 5 right now. resellers don't have no idea when it will be available. by the way, I asked new ipod touch 5th Gen. it will be available in the first week of October. I just got a message from them few days ago. I can't wait to play it around soon.

Man, I hope you're right. We've been waiting for this update for more than a year.

I also agree that Apple should have included the A6 and 1 GB of RAM like the iPhone 5.

Also better choice of colours , i.e., not having only white front colours (except for the black one) but black, blue etc.

FM Transmitter.

It would of been nice if it was at least $50-$100 cheaper...;)

At the price they're asking, it's a ripoff. Provide a 4G option and let me use it as an iPhone without the ability to make calls and I'd buy one. As it is now, it's a joke of a product at that price.

Wait, you aren't looking forward to the fifth generation iPod touch rocking back and forth when it's set down?

What I mean is that I wouldn't have minded the device being a few millimeters thicker it it meant that everything was flush.

The FM tuner is one of the few selling points of the Nano - especially the current one. A step backwards if you ask me.

To me the biggest design dissapointment of the new iPod touch is how… [the] rear camera… [makes] it impossible to lie [it] flat on the table…
I, overwhelmingly, am impressed and satisfied with my new iPod (see signature). However, I think it would have been better if the iPod were just a little thicker. That would allow for a flat back, bigger battery, and maybe even an ambient light sensor.

The iPod can lie flat on a plane, but it rocks when tapping, and you then have to wipe off the camera and the lower-right corner (the one without the loop button). I was going to get a silicone case anyway, but now I really need it to arrive ASAP.

Really, though, that's my only complaint. It's super speedy, iOS 6 is great, I use Siri on occasion, the camera is WAY improved over my old 4th gen., and the battery life is awesome.

I love how long the new battery lasts, especially compared to the fourth generation iPod touch. I've been using it all morning and am still at 100% charge; by now, I would've already received a few "20% battery remaining" messages one my previous iPod.

My original post was a joke; I completely agree.
