Charging with 12W Brick

The same question was asked when the iPhone 6 came out and I said that the phone was designed to draw 5W of power and that using a 10W or 12W charger would still deliver only 5W, therefore taking the same amount of time to charge.

I was wrong.

Apple made a change between the 5S and 6 which allows the latter to draw up to 12W of power for a faster charge. I wonder whether the watch can do the same.

I reckon the best way of answering that is through experimentation. Not long now...

John Gruber basically confirmed that it doesn't. Already was said a couple of times in this thread.

I don't think it charges any faster. I think it only draws 1000 mA, as per the system report on the MBP I have, similar to the iphone 5S and unlike the iphone 6/6+. See attached screenshot I took.
