Yep. I'm a shameless Apple fan but something about his attitude rubs me the wrong way. I hate to say it but he has a real slimy, snake-oil salesman way of carrying himself.

It's personally bothersome because I don't like to be judgemental, especially if I don't know the person. However, I've seen a lot of pro-Apple fans (yourself included) who have been saying the same thing. So it's a little reassuring that I'm not alone. Maybe there is something off about him.

Either way, you're STILL in the wrong.

First, you need to understand what the pressures in terms of negotiations and taking critical judgement both internally and externally from Apple colleagues/underlings as well as corporate gurus in their own right outside of Apple.

Since you don't know the line of work he does fully, nor the pressures involved there is NO reason to prejudge and you should consider an open mind or see his interviews. On stage, Apple executives NEED to display a level of confidence. I'm willing to bet those that have commented the same as you above is based on posture along with his looks mostly. Next WWDC try listing to his presentation with your eyes closed to see if your perception of him changes. Just listen to the presentation, tone of voice, etc.

Senior executives: "How do we get rid of this guy without actually firing him? I think it would be bad PR!"

*1 hour later*

"Hey Cueball, we have a very important project for you that requires your unique skills"

Is Eddy Cue gonna picks you up and do a car karaoke on the way to Apple new HQ?

Poor Eddy. He has the personality of a redneck that won the lottery. Still, if I had to party with one of the VP's, I'd choose him. I suspect he has interests other than Apple to chat about.

I googled trying to find something nice about Cue then saw this again....

That's apple's official screensaver! And you can't change the screensaver!

As a designer myself, I think meeting Johnny could be very interesting.
Johny has nothing but thinness!

Wow, rich people have a chance to buy a visit with really rich people, so the really rich people can donate money to help write off some......blah blah blah.
Yeah it seems that way. That's just such an unusual charity to donate $50K at one go to. I guess if you're rich enough to donate $50 K you don't care as long as it's a charity. But for an average Jane like me, where parting with that much money at one time would be a bit of a hardship, I'd want the money to go to save lives or cure a disease or take care of orphans or sick people--something really life affirming. I suppose coaches need money, too, but uh...I don't quite resonate with this description of the charity's purpose. It does sound like a tax write off.

Craig yes, Jony I could see being quiet or unable to answer a lot of questions
i can see Jony Talking like he dose in those videos of how well an iPhone or MacBook pro was made with Liquid Metal But instead He's Talking about what it took to make your sandwhich adding some Grey Poupon! totally visualized this! LOL.

He comes across as a bloated dwarf with an oversized ego. He's been MIA hiding after the Rihanna incident and didn't even show his dishonest mug at WWDC 2017.

I never even heard of the Rihanna incident until this thread. I had to look it up. I can't say I much like Rihanna's attention hog behavior at that game either, so I will file the whole thing in my "irrelevant to my interests" mental folder. I'm just glad I will likely never find myself seated near either one of them at anything for any reason. My life is so blessed. I am sure they would feel the same if they were ever to be made aware of my humble existence. :p

I don't like him either. He comes across as a slob to me. Other executives seem pretty put together, but he comes across like he doesn't care. However, none of that would matter to me if the departments and products he oversees were great. But they are not. Services might be Apple's fastest growing segment, but the quality of said services is still subpar.

I've been bitten too many times by Apple syncing issues to trust any of their iCloud services. iCloud Photo Library nuked about 800 photos before I realized what was happening and disconnected the network. iCloud Music Library consistently messes with my purchased music, changing tags and genres and filenames. I had issues with iCloud Drive years ago, back in the iDisk days, so I haven't trusted it for anything meaningful since.

My biggest complaint is Apple Music, however. Given the huge installed base of iOS devices, they should be cleaning up, but they're very far behind Spotify, even if you ignore Spotify's free tier. Why? Because the Apple Music app sucks. I stopped using it because I couldn't manage my own library and still use the service. One must cede all control to iCloud Music Library. I tried several times and it made a mess each time. Forget it. Apple Music should operate independently of one's purchased/ripped library. Beyond that, however, the app just looks terrible and is not very intuitive. Sad, coming from Apple.

And let's not forget the joke that is Siri. Doesn't understand context. Half the time it ends up doing a web search when I ask it something simple. It's fine for the most basic tasks, but has fallen woefully behind other offerings. Given the crazy head start Apple had, Siri should be far more sophisticated by now.

Apple Maps is still weak compared to Google Maps. Still.

I also think Cue is asleep at the wheel when it comes to original television content, although how much of that is him and how much is Cook is up for debate. Either way, Apple is so far behind. They should have been the first to launch original programming back when the first Apple TV hit the market. Of course, that was when Steve was around and he clearly didn't get it either. But now that Amazon and Netflix have more than proved the model, where is Apple, with its HUGE installed base? Planet of the Apps, that amateurish snooze-fest? Carpool Karaoke, whose moment has long passed? What are they waiting for???

Cue seems very much like a B-player to me who, for whatever reasons, is playing in an A-game environment. While I can't point to any clear disaster on his part, I also can't help but shake the feeling that were another executive in charge of these divisions and products, we'd see much better offerings.

Wait, what......what happened to your photos? Did you lose them permanently? I've got mine backed up regularly to Google Photos and Amazon Photos now, and then a few times a year my husband also puts my photos and videos on a physical storage drive, too, which also is backed up.

I think the only thing I like of Apple's that I can't really replicate with another service is iMessage. Apple Music is ok on my iPhone. It is terrible on my Android. My husband and I both prefer the curated stations on Google Music. I find I discover more new music on Google Play. I don't find Apple Music terribly engaging.

Gee man, after all these complaints they'd better reconsider the whole thing...
Forget about lunch, wait for the dark and look at some cueboy films

ok, so this should be a regular thing... We had a one-to-one with Tim Cook discussions... Now its Eddy's turn,,,, we should just go through every single main dam employee at Apple..... May as well get it all out of the way now

Cue "seems like" a douchebag to me. I don't know him that's why I get this feeling. I would rather spend this money with a lunch with Craig, Johnny or Tim.
Yep - and "Cue oversees Apple's numerous content stores including the iTunes Store, the iBooks Store, and Apple Music, as well as Apple Pay, Siri, Maps, iAd, iCloud services, and Apple’s productivity and creativity apps.[3]"

Siri still sucks when it comes to anything except setting an alarm. And I had the "funny" retorts she comes with - especially when she is so moronic when it comes to context.

iBooks is a crap app (poor UI). The iTunes store is a nightmare to navigate (way to much crapware and terrible search). Apple Maps is clearly second rate.

Also I see *no* reason to give any money to this charity:
"The National Association of Basketball Coaches Foundation, Inc., was organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, and to support the charitable and education purposes of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), a Kansas non-profit corporation.

The NABC Foundation operates the NABC Foundation Benevolent Fund, the College Basketball Experience (CBE), the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame, and the annual Court of Honor Gala."

So what good do they actually do?

Gosh, that's really unkind. Easy to call someone names when they're not around - that's the height of cowardess.
[doublepost=1497799041][/doublepost]Reading these comments and what poorly disguised vitriol is clearly bubbling beneath the surface of your angry minds, it must be said that I'd rather have dinner with Eddie Cue than ANY OF YOU.

Making childish, back-handed jabs and taking pot-shots at a guy who isn't present to represent his side and to defend his case, is... well, childish. Says a lot about the emotional immaturity of a VAST number of MacRumors members. You should be locked up on the stocks and have rotting fruit and veg thrown at you, SHAME ON YOU - you don't even KNOW Eddie Cue.

Get a grip, get a life.

We don't have to know him personally. We can only observe or or try to use the services he controls.I tried Apple Music...not good...bloated, overdone and not balanced...too much urban music. Do we need to understand why that the App Store was taken away from him and given to Schiller?

"You should be locked up on the stocks and have rotting fruit and veg thrown at you".
So you judge us all, just because we have our own opinions and feelings?
We do have a life...perhaps you should check your attitude.

Can someone explain to me the hate for Eddy Cue? I missed this feud somehow.
