Good morning posters, quick question since I haven't found anything online or on Chase's website.

I'm currently using ApplePay with my Chase Debit and Credit cards. However, if I would use my physical debit card (for example) on a purchase abroad, I would get charge a currency conversion and int'l fees. However, with ApplePay, I don't have any of those fees tagged on. Same with my credit cards.

I tried looking for fees associated with ApplePay abroad, but thus far I haven't found any. So my question boils down to: Does anyone else have this same case of no int'l fees?

Can't see why it would make any difference. To your finical institution the charge is the same whether it comes from you physical CC number or your :apple:Pay CC number. Both CC numbers are tied to the same account.

That is the premise, but if you physically use the plastic, you get smacked with fees vs no fees on ApplePay.

Have you actually used Apple Pay overseas and confirmed this? Like Julien said, it shouldn't matter--but maybe Chase's systems aren't set up quite right.

I have. If I used the physical pastic I get smacked with international fees (usually 0.0875% of the total) and with ApplePay its clear.

That sounds awfully low for a Forex fee. Mind uploading a censored version of your statement for some clarity?

I'll chime in with my experience. Exchange fees have never appeared for me as part of or even as separate transactions listed in Apple Pay. They do, however, appear on my statements as separate items. This is the case for using both the actual card and Apple Pay.
