We can all agree that the fees are high. Having said that the stubhub credit for me is already enough to recoup the new fees.I thought I'd get out ahead with the restaurant credit. I did not realize it had to be a specific type of terminal. What would I need to look for?

I've liked the perks and since the chase lounge in Philly is fantastic I'd keep it just for that. I've used their travel insurance a couple times. So for me it has been worth it. But yes the coupon book comment from someone is spot on. If you use these specific services you might come out ahead.

I've been skipping apple one and now will get to try music and apple tv+ . One thing to be aware of is Chase's easy redemption rate for travel now changes and will become very nebulous.

I'll see what Amex offers. they gave me a sweet deal this year but not quite sure what to use all my points for. Seems like some people prefer their Amex. Can I ask why? What do you find useful? Why do you prefer Amex over the Reserve? I'll try the new perks for a year and then see what I'll do.

the 2.25% cashback seems like the way to go that one commenter used. Cashback is always best but it is nice to get hotel upgrades and pay for some personal travel with points. If that makes me a sucker, at least I'm happy .

Ugh. Card games requires so much thought today. I got the Sapphire Preferred the other day because it had a crazy bonus for travel. Do I now need a reserve. Ugh. Again. I realized my Chase from 1989 has $5k in Amazon money on it. Time to buy some knick knacks. 😂

I bet it’s one of the Bank of America cards. They give cash back percentage boost based on your bank account balances.
Agreed.

Chase just increased the annual fee by $245, so you’re saving $5.
There are other credits now but only for new card members and doesn’t start for current card holders till Oct 26, 2025.

Do you know what perks might be coming?
Not yet but the rumors are out there.

  1. Resy credits semi annual like chase
  2. fine hotel credit to increase with 2 night minimum
  3. Uber to go to monthly rideshare credit like Amex delta cards
  4. Flight credit like Amex Hilton cards but quarterly or semi annual to compete with travel credit from chase
  5. More money with the entertainment credit or more partners, they dropped SiriusXM… maybe YouTube music, they got the Disney plus and Peacock to go after Apple TV. Paramount plus? Netflix?

Agree with the other posts. If anything they should have covered Apple One subscriptions not just individual ones. I’m seriously considering downgrading to the Chase Sapphire Preferred. I already play the coupon book game with AMEX Platinum. Don’t much feel like doing that with CSR.

Plus they ruined the travel bonus points.

One way or another I'd find myself not needing or remember to avail myself of the perks of these sorts of cards that have annual fees.

Card looks good (aesthetically speaking). For me, it's a lousy deal since I don't travel and I don't use Apple TV.

Nah, I’ll stick with Amex Gold & Platinum.
Amex first needs to rebrand their cards so the naming makes sense. Platinum costs less than half what gold does (per oz), yet Amex Platinum has higher perks and carries a higher annual fee than Amex Gold. Their branding is totally outdated and from an era where platinum was more valuable than gold.

The numbers are only printed on the backside.
The embossed numbers are not safe and not used anymore - at least here in Europe.
Come on, what’s unsafe about sharing some photo proof with a stranger online?

I do like how the Apple Card lacks numbers stateside. A lot of cards here have moved the numbers to the back as well.

lol raised the fee 250 bucks knowing most people can’t take advantage of the new “perk” that’s a money grab if I’ve ever seen one.
