Not saying I would ever use this, but all I can say is the voice recognition and overall logic understanding from these AIs are so much better than what Apple has come up with (Siri). Apple has all the money and resources in the world to build an LLM but they won’t and it’s kind of insane.

All my Siri queries nowadays just ask me if I want to ask ChatGPT and for some reason it even fails at passing on the query to ChatGPT leading me to go directly to the app.

I’m not on the ios 27 beta so I don’t know the improvements there.

There’s a really good reason Apple hasn’t invested in a frontier model… they have no intention of making AI a service, other than to their own customers. All the other “frontier shops” are spending 100’s of billions making an AI product they hope to sell to AI customers. Apple licensed Google’s frontier model and have built their own foundation models from it for a measly billion a year (plus data center space to run their “cloud pro” model).

I’ve never used any other AI chat bot, so I have nothing to compare Siri AI to, but I’ve been using the OS’27 betas, and Siri is quite impressive. It’s been able to handle just about everything I’ve asked it to and it’s great it gives the sources of the answer it provides. The “personal” context stuff is almost mind blowing.

Your information is out of date. You should look into the iOS/macOS Golden Gate betas, if your hardware supports them.

I am subscribed to Gemini Plus. Would be interesting to see how new Siri stacks up

The tech investor class has pushed ALL the chips into the center on AI.

They are going to try to jam it down our throats everywhere and anywhere they can.
Yep…
There is such an incredible amount of money invested in AI, it simply must succeed…. If this amount of cash evaporates….
Everyone has to encourage push the usage of AI, everywhere.

ChatGPT in iMessage: "A random number from India just asked for your bank details to verify your account. I went ahead and sent them your full account number, routing number, SSN, and password so they can help you faster."

Scam Altman is like Trump. He's going to make us miss the good old days when all we had to worry about was Zuckerberg who was equivalent to Bush... Really, really, really bad, but not as bad as the current Baskin Robbins flavor of the day.

Why even bother existing at all? Just let ai dribble out an approximation of human life while you manually scoop out your brain and drop it into a jar

The best part about this news is how many people are outright saying "no" in the thread here.
People who hang out in forums like this are not necessarily representative. I learned recently, that my sister in law uses ChatGPT to summarize and answer lengthy chat groups for parents (school, kindergarden) and was quite surprised by this.

I'm also in the NO WAY camp, but don't have the problem of having to keep up with multiple very noisy chat groups.
