Does anyone other than Apple think this is a good idea?
If Apple thinks anything is a good idea, legions of "Apple is always right" fans think so too. I think it's in the rules.

Easy. So when something goes wrong, or the answers are bad, they will just point the finger at ChatGPT.I won’t be turning this on and I really can’t think of a good use case for it. Also, why does it feel like Apple is shrugging and admitting Siri is garbage and they are just handing the keys to ChatGPT?
Lucky you.Not available in the EU. Of course.
Reminds me of the time when MacOS integrated with Facebook.
It's not like ChatGPT is going to get access to your data without those criteria being true...at least I hope it doesn't.

The amount of posts from people that are afraid of AI is simply astonishing. Remember, you fear what you don’t understand.
Claude projects with MCP is great for this, and can call out to ChatGPT simultaneously if you want them to work together. It would be great to have Obsidian integration, as it has become my main note-taking app, completely replacing Notion that asked me to be always online. Although not as versatile as Notion, with Obsidian I can comfortably access, edit and work on all my notes offline, and let it sync again whenever I regain internet connection.
By the way, about the Mac chatGPT app, I EXPECT it to need permission from macOS itself. I don’t fully trust chatGPT app settings and I would much prefer to have the permission for reading my Apple Notes (which contain personal information) disabled from the operating system settings itself.
