How did you ask the question? I asked Siri where the iPhone was made and got some web references.Last I checked Siri still won’t admit my iPhone is made in china 🤔

I asked and was given web results naming China. But is this question really your standard by which to judge the usefulness of the technology?Last I checked Siri still won’t admit my iPhone is made in china 🤔
I like digging holes by hand instead of using a shovel too 🙄.
Said from their bastion of technology
You evidently don’t know me.Nah you won't. Give it a few years. I am sure you won't.
ok I just did the same and it worked lol. hmm.I asked the question and within a second it pulled up web results with the answers.
Yup, first hint of censorship, especially in the favor of corp/gov and you’re DQedI asked and was given web results naming China. But is this question really your standard by which to judge the usefulness of the technology?
By speaking to it you have giving up your voice patterns. Not necessarily that useful in the greater scheme of things but it is personal info. It’s definitely a lot more natural talking to it now. I’m actually asking it for advice on my exercise and diet routines and got some valuable information on what I could improve. Things I wouldn’t have even bothered asking if I had to type it.
The voices are still somewhat robotic sounding, but they’re getting eerily close to an actual human now. Not really as mono-toned anymore.
I’m still not going to disclose any personal information, who knows what OpenAI will do with my data?
I’m looking forward to a future smarter Siri. Something that can integrate with my devices.
Indeed.Just remember when you complain about Siri being terrible it’s in part because Apple is “respecting your privacy”
Good point. They’re taking every piece of data that they can, even the things we normally wouldn’t think about. I think I’ll hold off on using ChatGPT unless I really need it for something.By speaking to it you have giving up your voice patterns. So far, this particular technology has no use for me. So I'll watch from the sidelines and see how things go.
Just keep flogging that horse, I’m sure I saw a sign of life!Just imagine how bad Apples version will be when they try to get Siri to do this.
Me : "Siri, how many pizzas do I need for 700 people".
Siri: "Getting directions to 700 piazza boulevard Italy"
I agree with you.I’m not in the mood to give Altman, Peter Thiel and Microsoft my voice print and data.
I don’t think I’ll ever be in the mood for that.
They can’t even pay me a billion dollars to be in the mood for that.
I really mean that.
That’s really what it comes down to, for the most part. I don’t think most are aware of the invasions that happen daily, or maybe they don’t care — if a product works well, maybe they prefer not to know why.Just remember when you complain about Siri being terrible it’s in part because Apple is “respecting your privacy”
You should compare with Siri — I find Siri to be faster, but answers are different — Siri gives you web results and OAI gives you a singular “opinion”. OAI results also don’t go past January 2022. Whether you prefer a single answer or multiple ones with references is up to the user — the latter is not as simple and clean — still not sure how this translates to revenue.Testing out the Voice Chat feature. Pretty cool. Wish it also displayed the spoken text.
EDIT — Cancelling the Voice Chat feature shows the written response, too. Cool.
Amazed at how FAST ChatGPT is. Super super fast!
Except for Spotlight. Searching things on the Mac has always been super easy since its introduction. This is why I don't have much hope for them making a search engine. Unless they find and hire the next Larry Page. Search on Apple platforms has often just never been good.
Being pessimist or optimist is a choice.I might add, if I may….that a pessimist, is just an optimist with experience…….
exactly my concern. I do not need my voice recorded and stored.Sure, free until you get so you depend on it and then it's just $5 per week, and then $10. And it records everything you say and uses it for its own purposes, including your voice probably.

I hear an evil laugh….Sure, free until you get so you depend on it and then it's just $5 per week, and then $10. And it records everything you say and uses it for its own purposes, including your voice probably.
Better skip most of Disney, Apple TV, Netflix, … too.ChatGPT is politically correct and censors/steers its results accordingly. I'll skip
It’s not. I’m in my late-50s and I love this stuff !Maybe it's being in my mid-40s, but I really don't have any interest in this or even trying it.
Remember if something is free, then you're the product. Where is all that data going?
