cheap RAM UPGRADE for cMP 4-5,1

For those willing to take a risk on used/decommissioned server RAM, there are some great deals to be found on Ebay. I've picked up 4 sticks recently with great results.

Single sticks of registered 16GB RAM (2Rx4 PC3L-10600R 1333Mhz ECC) are going for $50/each. At times, lower prices can be found on multiple sticks, such as $85 for 2 16gb sticks, delivered.

While buying used RAM can be risky, so is buying a used Apple PCIe SSD, which has been an upgrade for many CMP users.. No matter for you look at it, $50 per 16gb stick is too good of a deal to pass up.

I concur, similar deals for nMP memory. I got 64GB for $240.

Agreed. Usually, single 16GB sticks run around $60 each. Would love to upgrade my 6 x 4GB sticks to the 16GB versions.

As an aside if anyone is looking for extra RAM for their Mac Pro 1,1 2,1 or 3,1 the price of used FB-DIMMs on eBay has dropped through the floor & bargains can be found for about £1/GB.
