With the ACD, has anyone questioned your photos when viewing them on lesser monitors? I've been very tempted by the ACD because it looks absolutely fantastic but for some reason, the images just looks just a bit too real, maybe too fake. That's aside from the glossy screen issue.
I bought the U2410 though.. plus I got 15% off coupon to go along with it so it "sorta" is value for money.
No, I haven't heard anything like that from people. I calibrate my monitor regularly & doublecheck the images after I convert them to srgb for web use -- they seem to translate fine to other monitors. I have a crappy dell laptop that I use as my "average monitor" for comparison testing and they usually look ok there.
I think that might be a bigger issue with the wide-gamut monitors but the ACD's gamut is pretty average I think. The biggest advantage in my mind is that the backlight is very even and the colors are stable from day to day. I calibrate about once a month and any differences between the new and old profiles are tiny.
