Cheapest graphic card for Mac Pro 1,1?

What would be the cheapest graphics card solution to be able to run Sierra on a Mac Pro 1,1, assuming that I overcome the EFI hurdle and machine ID check? All I would be looking for is bare functionality, not gaming performance. I see these Mac Pro 1,1 machines on craigslist for $100-$150 from time to time, it would be fun to set one up as a VPN/DNS/file server/whatever. Thanks!

This thread with 11 pages would indicate that Sierra is not going to work on your MacPro1,1.
For this very reason I purchased a MacPro3,1 and it is happily running the latest Sierra 10.12.6.

ATI HD4870 video cards can be had cheap and most can be flashed to work on a first gen mac pro you can still run 10.10 or 10.11 on it have fun

Totally forgot that I have this card laying around (original Mac Edition Radeon HD 4870, bought with my Mac Pro 2009).

Update:
Just this morning installed the High Sierra public beta on my MacPro3,1.
So far after several hours it appears to behaving very nicely.
