Just had a look at that link however, from what I can see, all the prices listed are the same as what you would pay on Apple's website.

Personally, I still think that getting the 42mm Space Grey Sports model, for £280, from my friend at Apple, is probably gonna be my cheapest option.

I would say that the ONLY thing holding me back is this: Am I crazy to buy one now (looking to order it next week), knowing that Apple's March event is so close (March 15th if rumors are correct!) where they will potentially be announcing a new model of Apple Watch (my views on this are in my original post!) ?!

I actually currently own a Pebble Time Steel and I gotta say that I do love its looks but it is seriously limited on iOS - can't reply to texts or calls (literally, all you can do is dismiss notifications. You cannot act on any of them) and this is the primary reason why I want an Apple Watch. I want to be able to experience what it is like to have full 100% functionality with my iPhone 6!!

The website shows the price listed on that 4 UK retailers during the day. So, if they don't have any discount, the price will be the same as on Apple's website. I've got mine when the prices was £50 cheaper in Currys than on Apple's website.

I've heard they will announce new straps for Apple Watch, not a new version. But, using it from 3 months so far, in my opinion, there are some improves they need to apply, for example, the apps takes long time to open on the watch. Lack of really essential apps to use.

Hi Dino

I still stand by the notion that apple will be 'shooting themselves in the foot' if they p*** off the £8,500 to £12,000 Edition owners with a MAJOR update.

As it will in effect make the Edition worth about £2000 absolute maximum.

I know people will say 'well if you can afford an Edition you don't care about resale value'

excuse the pun - I don't buy that. Edition owners are not stupid.

So I see a minor update, if any, this side of September to help keep present (big spend) apple watch owners from being very unhappy.

Let's keep in mind how Apple would update the Watch. That is probably the best way of guessing whether they will or not.

In my view, the Watch is still constrained by Bluetooth, and that is a standard that Apple cannot change on their own. A faster processor, a longer lasting battery, and new features will just make the Bluetooth constraint more obvious.

So for the foreseeable future I expect new colours, new materials, and new bands only.

Hi!

I have had a look around and stumbled on this:

http://www.eglobalcentral.co.uk/app...NuoowdC0P8KxzYe9YhKqt0udZDSeTWRUMVBoCbiTw_wcB

...they have the 42mm Space Grey Aluminum watch at just £268 - thats definitely THE cheapest I have seen anywhere:eek:

Thoughts?

....just to update this part of my original post - just had an email back from this website today and they confirmed that the model they are selling here (which has now gone down in price to £258!! ) is indeed one from Asia but "....it would work in the UK without any problems".

TBH, don't think I would be brave enough to order from them anyway - I want a UK model!!! :p

the words- barge pole, wouldn't and touch come to mind.
I rarely shop for 'major items' other than amazon and JLP due to their OUTSTANDING returns policy (apple too- although I don't like the sound of 'trained staff getting magnifying glasses out for returns' for Edition, a bit OTT and off putting).
I had buyers remorse once, its horrible.

Ok, so tomorrow is the big day!!! The day I order my Apple Watch from my mate who works at Apple in Ireland who can get me the 42mm Space Grey Sports edition for £280.

I have the dosh but it's still a big sum to fork out in one go! So I was thinking..... Apple do a finance program where you can spread the cost of products over 6 or so months (with interest of course!). If I was to go down this route, it would mean forking out the full price of £340 for the same model, however, with finance, I could then spread this cost over the next 6 months - so would only work out at around £60 a month! I wouldn't feel so guilty then as I wouldn't be paying the £280 all up front!!!!

Thoughts?! (I know there is a rumoured Apple announcement this month but not waiting on that - see my original post!)

I think you are maybe having second thoughts on buying from your friend in Ireland. With returns etc I don't blame you.
Apple won't update the apple watch this month, so no rush.
If you are looking to spread the cost (and I don't advocate finance in any way) I would go for a 0% finance credit card most probably the Post Office one http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/best-0-credit-cards#longestdeal
Put the £280 in a savings account gaining a bit of interest.
Then buy the sports as soon as John Lewis start discounting again, you won't have to wait long, plus you get an extra year guarantee free.
Buy the sport on the 0% Post Office card spreading the cost say £50 to 60 each month.
I keep an eye on discounts like this, so can let you know, and post here.
I would NOT buy from Curry's due to their returns: open box policy.
However I would use Curry's if they discount first as a 'price match', to buy from John Lewis.

Here's what I am going to do!

I'm gonna to buy the watch from Apple's website for £339, however, I will select the 6 month finance option which equates to £59 a month, which is pretty manageable, instead of paying the cheaper price of £280 from my mate, all in one go.

I was also gonna opt to buy Apple Care as well for £49, however, on speaking with an Apple Rep (online chat), you only get 2 chance to use this if you damage the watch + I also have to pay an excess of £49 as well?! Doesn't really seem much point if I have to pay on top of the initial £49 to buy the product?!o_O

DA TECH PRO sells mostly stolen Macs and Iphones, they are bunch of crooks, do not advertise them if they were the best option.
