Cheapest way for Gaming PC

cos it's a helluva lot cheaper than the Core 2 duos in Australia.

It is cheaper but the performance per monetary unit isn't there as it is with Core 2.

Plus, Even though I have an intel iMac, I'm a bit of an AMD fanboy, plus it's a bit more future proof...

How is it more future proof? No to mention being a fanboy. You should give advice on what will give the most value instead of siding with a single company. I was recommending AMD workstations before the Core 2 launch and now it's Intel ones.

You should be able to build that for ~$700 or so.

The only underwhelming aspect would be the power supply.

My vote is for the XBOX as well. Though you realize for RTS games you likely could use a slightly older imac or even for some the mini would work. Both intel versions of course for Windows. You don't need high end hardware for RTS.

I use the minitower in my signature for RTS games.
